ART Grand Prix’s Nico Rosberg won today’s GP2 series race at Silverstone from Heikki Kovalainen and Alex Prémat. In a day of firsts, Rosberg became the first GP2 series driver to win back-to- back races, and also the first to win a GP2 series race from pole. With Rosberg'steam-mate Prémat taking fastest lap en route to his podium, their team is also the first to score pole position, race win and fastest lap in the same race.
The ufortunate Nelson Piquet Jr failed to make it to the grid due to an electrical failure, so Rosberg had the front row to himself.
Kovalainen had lined himself up to make a move on the inside of Copse but when the lights went out, he, Rosberg and fourth-placed Adam Carroll got away seamlessly and held what were now the top three places.
Prémat was on a mission from 14th on the grid and, having pitted early, was dicing around slower cars which were yet to come in. When the pitstops panned out Rosberg led Kovalainen by two seconds, with Prémat a surprised third, Carroll fourth and Scott Speed fifth for iSport International.
Scott was the quicker of the two, but could not find a way past. That was until Carroll ran a touch wide at Stowe. His car snapped wildly, pitching it into a flying spin. Carroll was able to continue. Unfortunately, a puncture picked up in his off-track excursion forced him out of the race with no points.
Speed came home fourth, with Neel Jani fifth, Clivio Piccione sixth, Gimmi Bruni seventh and Olivier Pla eighth. The Frenchman will therefore start from pole position tomorrow.
The result leaves Kovalainen at the top of the standings on 60 points. Rosberg’s pole and win combo has pulled him up to second in the championship on 41. Carroll remains on 34 points and is third, equal on points with Speed.

I recognized a few names in there. Neel Jani, Pantano and Bruni, as well as Speed.

looks like we may have 3 strong Finns in F1 soon - Kimi, Nico and Heikki.

"You just don't mess with Jacques Villeneuve" - Murray Walker, 1997 Hungarian GP.
"When Jacques was with us, he was a very aggressive driver, fiercely competitive, mentally hard as nails. Very quick with it, very gifted. A bright fellow, undoubtedly, very intelligent. He was an absolutely born racing driver - look at the way he'd bang wheels with Michael, pass people on the outside, that kind of thing" -Sir Frank Williams on Jacques Villeneuve
"This year, with BMW, JV's going very well, and I'm pleased for him. Whether or not he'll get a drive next year I don't know, but I hope he does, he's an unusual, and very strong addition to the F1 community. A character." - Sir Frank Williams again on Jacques Villeneuve
The Nojvnof1 2006 driver lineup - Jacques Villeneuve, Nico Rosberg, Christian Klein, Scott Speed.

Yes.
It was a good race to watch, nice to have that on race day as well, unlike last year.

not sure mate, haven't seen them race on tv or seen any footage, I just go on reports off the net. If Nico is anything like his old man, then F1 better prepare itself
