BERNIE again

Recommended Posts

Well for the life of me I do not even slightly comprehend this guys thinking.

Now the British GP at Silverstone is to be axed because they (BRDC) can't raise the "REQUESTED" 12 million pound from sponsorship (they have 9 mil ) as Bernie WANTS???

Like is it that Bernie needs this money to run the event at Silverstone ? or is it he can see the light at the end of a very small tunnel and can GET his 12 mil pound from some other organiser ?? WHERE DOES THIS MONEY GO TO/ WHO DOES THIS MONEY GO TO ?????

Certainly from what I read "NOT THE TEAMS" so only other depository is in Bernie's ever growing bank account to the demise of F1 !!

But I guess at his age he probably feels he can take it with him in his "Cardboard" coffin !! ( too bloody lousy to buy a REAL coffin made of wood ?)

The UK is where F1 started it is the home of F1. but like many other sports that were started in the UK, they always go to other places.

Eccelstone is a greedy old man, with no respect for his country or right & wrong, money is his concern nothing else.

I do think the goverment have to be blamed also for not providing enough reasourses to save the GP. F1 is one of the last remaining worldwide enjoyed sports that brings many people to the UK, and brings money to the UK with it.

I guess the goverment needs the money to give to kids who have baby's with no way of surporting the child they bring into the world. But these kids don't really care about the child anyway, they care about getting a house to live in and all the bills paid so they never have to get a job.

Blame this tragedy on these irresponsible kid single parents who want a free life at a workers expense!

I have to agree with most of the points made by ecapdeville and DazR. Bernie is a greedy money driven tycoon who, despite his claims to be a true British patriot, has spent at least half a decade trying to remove the British GP from the F1 calendar. The British GP is one of the most historic and crucial GPs in the calendar considering that a high percentage of the teams and drivers are based in or have close connections with Britain. The race itself is always entertaining, with 2003 standing out as an exceptional race, and the track is very popular amongst the drivers. I really don

having worked in the Uk up to 1994, in the race car building business, I can tell you back then the UK was the HUB of race car technology and also the AVAILABILITY of "specialist" parts that are used in Race car design, mostly derived from the AERO industry.

As far as I am aware, most of the USA race cars are still produced in the UK, so one would have to say it is the HUB of racing car development.

Seems strange that the place that builds most of the cars dosen't have a track to race em on ?????

I wonder if Goodwood could host a GP...

No way. it is either Silverstone or Donington. Don't know why Bernie wants to take it off especially when the teams are agreeing to a 20 race calender.

Here's an idea. Once the concord agreement is up in 2007,

organize the track owners, and the team owner into the the new seires the team owners have been talking about.

If F1 or P1 or what ever they call it become profitable for all involved,

I'm sure Ford will return along with other new teams.

It's time to put a stop to the all bull***t being caused by one greedy SOB that don't care about the sport or his own country. It looks like he wants to put F1 out business befor the concord agreement funs out.

maybe Bernie has a lucrative TIE UP with the supposed organisers of the LONDON around the streets GP.

Seems to me there has to be a reason WHY he wont let Silverstone hold the race !!!
