The British Grand Prix

Recommended Posts

I live in Australia and when working in Britain in 1999 attended the British Grand Prix. I had a fabulous day and it was great to experience a grand prix with all the promotional extras that we don't see in Oz. It saddens me that there has been a ? mark over this event in the coming years. I think it should be less about the money and what goes in Bernie's pocket and be more for the good of the sport and the home of formula one.

Does anyone have any thoughts about this topic ? :(

I'm just extremely pleasanytly surprised that an Australian is saying nice things about Great Britain!! I also attended the 1999 British GP, my first ever, and will never forget it. I have converted my fiance to watch f1 and was going to take her to her first ever race at silverstone next year, so was devastated when I heard it wouldn't go ahead, but now it is, so no problem!!! No chance of government helping develop the place though

Silverstone is an issue that greatly troubles me and the GP has become an annual affair for me so the thought of losing it is quite unpleasant.

The British Racing Drivers' Club have clinched a deal with Bernie Ecclestone to keep the British GP on the F1 calendar for the next five years.

The BRDC has enough time to modernize Silverstone; I just hope they spend enough money.

Me too. Spend some money in organising the parking area I'll say. Silverstone could do better than what they have done in the last 2 years.
