BrisbaneAndy 0 Report post Posted October 30, 2014 We all wondered and some shook their head when Verstappen was announced as replacing JEV at STR. I was not sure what to think about his age, but I assumed he had the skills. Marko says he is the new Senna, although I try not to read what Helmet says. I watched the season's end wrap up of Euro F3 last night. Ocon was impressive, so was Blomqvist, but Verstappen looked clumsy. He locks up frequently and runs off track when taking on low percentage moves. I checked the 2014 stats, eight retirements in thirty three races. Ten wins, mind you, but consistency is so important. Near enough 25% DNF? I am unconvinced, third in the championship due to a rash of DNF's does not bode at all well. Blomqvist sounds as English as I do, but surely it has to be son of Stig? I checked, it is! http://www.tomblomqvistofficial.com/biography
Jem of the Shire 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 I hope putting a child in a F1 race will be a total failure, purely for those in charge to get a huge dose of common sense slap them in the face. I'm amazed there isn't already a minimum age limit for F1. I don't care how mature for his age he is, he's a child.
Caesar 0 Report post Posted November 3, 2014 Much older drivers cried after doing stupid things on track! Even champions! I wonder how many candy has Red Bull to comfort him!
