Verstappen Refuses To Apologise For Monaco Crash

Recommended Posts

Seems the kid has a bit of attitude. A small part of me thinks this is great, we need arrogance in f1 drivers cos that's how racing drivers should be, but a bigger part of me thinks the little squirt needs taking down a peg, particularly when in the Canada drivers' press conference bringing up Massa's crash last year with Perez. Bit cheeky.

What do u think? I think he'll soon learn to admit mistakes but he's already alienating some of the veterans!

He's 17 and an F1 driver, I'd be that arrogant too.

He'll get over it.

That is true, the hype would have gotten to his head, but his driving ability will over look the mistakes he makes.

He might be arrogant but he has nothing to apologize for. It was a race incident.

This is not Hamilton in Monaco 07 accusing his team of fixing a race. That required a talk down and if instead of encouraging him he would have gotten it, it would have prevented many, many of the problems that the team later had. Instead, well... there is the record.

Anyway, to hear Grosjean of all people asking for blood. The irony.

Grosjean is doing about fine. But his record is a btch. He was a menace on the starts.

Oh yeah a couple years back he was dreadful but I think he has made a massive improvement though.

Grosjean has matured a lot over the last two years or so.

I seem to recall a certain other driver that early in his career was rather dangerous, Michael Schu... something..... Not comparing the two, but the drivers coming into the sport now have too much pressure on them straight away, they're not allowed to make any mistakes.

He's doing exactly what a racing driver should, racing!

Far too many of the drivers in F1 have forgotten what racing actually is, they're all far too worried about not binning it in this age of ultra reliability, whereas as late as the early '00s it was always worth seizing every opportunity, because you always had just the tiniest little doubt in your head as to wether or not your car would still be running at the end, and really that's what needs to be brought back, a sense of urgency amongst the drivers, and Max has that.

He should be applauded, not derided

Yeah I agree. He still shouldve appolgised though. As many have agreed it was his fault, not saying he should stop attempting moves like that but if its your fault then apologise.
