well, that was a joke, a disgrace and a few profanities I'd rather not say cos I don't think it is within the rules of the board. I blame the FIA and Michelin. Michelin for not doing their research and bringing in an unsafe batch of tyres, and the FIA for not having a contingency plan. We are talking about highly educated multi millionaires who could not discuss an agreement with the teams. I do not blame the Michelin teams for pulling out, I'd rather discuss something like what happened on Sunday rather than discussing driver injuries, or God forbid, a fatality.

I don't blame the drivers, who I think would have raced had they been solely responsible for the decision. DC clearly wanted to race, whilst I read JPM was literally in tears through sheer frustration at not being allowed to race in front of a massive amount of his fans. I also do not blame Ferrari, at the end of the day, BStone brought a safe set of tyres, so they were able to race. A chicane was a pretty stupid idea. We would have seen a field of 20 cars approaching a new and unseen area of the track, not knowing when to brake, we may have seen a multi car pile up. Having said that, the Michelin teams did agree to forfeit any points won and allow BStone runners to the front of the grid. However what would happen if a BStone runner collided with a Michelin runner. For every solution there are 10 or so problems.

Although I am frustrated, I can't imagine how those who paid big money and travelled all those miles feel. Having said that, it doesn't excuse throwing bottles and cans on the track, that was a disgrace. Yes, they had every right to be angry, but not to the detriment of the safety of those racing. I saw footage of a guy searching through a bin for something to throw.

Is this F1's blackest day?? No it isn't, it's certainly one of it's most disgusting, embarassing and lowest moments, but I recall a weekend in May in 1994 which I think was F1's darkest days. That weekend and any other day when a driver/marshal/fan has been killed goes down as F1's darkest day.
