Teams Ready To Boycott Races

Recommended Posts

Formula One teams could boycott the French Grand Prix and future races if they receive severe penalties from the FIA for their part in the US Grand Prix disaster, Minardi boss Paul Stoddart has warned.

The seven teams supplied by Michelin who all failed to start last week's US Grand Prix will all attemd a dosciplinary hearing on Wednesday at the World Motor Sport Council in Paris. Stoddart has warned that if the FIA hands out 'draconian bans' then they could elect to boycott other races.

"In the wors possible situation of some kind of draconian penalty, would the other teams race?" Stoddart asked. "I think we'd have a meeting and you wouldn't guarantee it."

Once again the team of 7 are trying to influence the FIA by using hollow threats. This is bullying and is only being used because the FIA will not tow their line.

Why cant ppl see this.

Hollow threats, their sponsors will not stand for more missed races and embarrassment.

This has nothing to do with Ferrari. The team of 7 have called the FIA's bluff(Indy) and won. They will use this threat whenever things dont go their way.

You should try to look at the bigger picture. If the teams are allowed to dictate F1 policy there will be anarchy, which will only be resolved once the FIA is fronted by someone that is agreeable to the teams.

I find it interesting that Paul Stoddart is rumoured to be trying to sell Minardi and has an interest in suceeding Max as the president of the FIA. What do you think his motives are for continually slating Max and the FIA. It is obvious that he must carry favour with the team of 7 because they are the strongest power brokers in F1.

You work it out
