raikkonen_rulez 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 1) Infernal Affairs link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0338564/ description: A story between a mole in the police department and an undercover cop. Their objectives are the same: to find out who is the mole, and who is the cop. Very good movie. Hollywood is remaking this movie, with Brad Pitt and Martin Scorcese. 2) Kung Fu Hustle link: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0373074/ description: In Shanghai, China in the 1940s, a wannabe gangster aspires to join the notorious "Axe Gang" while residents of a housing complex exhibit extraordinary powers in defending their turf. Very hillarious. I've watched it 5 times and still it's funny. Currently showing in good cinemas, all over the world. -------- I understand that most people don't like to watch asian films, but Cantonese films often don't receive as much attention as Chinese ones, and I decided that these are too good to be missed. Rent it from the DVD store and give it a try.
nojvnof1 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 Just on Asian films, I can sit back and watch anything starring Bruce Lee or Jackie Chan, whether it be in English or Cantonese (although if in Cantonese I'd obviously need subtitles as I don't understand a word of it). raikkonen_rulez 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2005 But Jackie Chan's movies are so similar, Stephen Chow (Shaolin Soccer, Kung Fu Hustle) are hillarious you just keep laughing, and there's lots of action scenes as well.
