ALONSO SETS MONZA PACE

ITV

World championship leader Fernando Alonso was comfortably fastest on the third day of testing at Monza, albeit in the absence of previous pacesetters McLaren.

Alonso topped the times with a 1m20.413s lap, around half a second slower than the benchmark set by Juan Pablo Montoya before McLaren headed back to the factory yesterday evening.

Giancarlo Fisichella made it a Renault one-two, recovering strongly after losing time to electrical problems during the morning.

All eyes will be on the struggling Ferraris at next weekend

Ferrari looked good too. Might be due to some important inputs from Massa regarding Michelin. :)

Just a general question. Does FIA allows drivers to test for their rival teams before the season ends, as what Massa did?

I believe this has handed ferrari the advantage, especially at this critical moment (i.e., home race - Monza). :(

Has nothing to do with the FIA, the only people who could stop it are Sauber but since the run Ferrari engines they can't exactly tell them to F off.

''Giancarlo Fisichella made it a Renault one-two''

Well played Fisi', even if the McLarens weren't taking part, it was still pretty good.

JS.
