Red Bull Stealing People

This is a story from GrandPrix.com it is primarily about McLaren loosing another key team member but it mentions Red Bull.

McLaren's Vehicle Project Director Nick Tombazis is reported to have left the team after only 18 months. Tombazis joined McLaren from Ferrari in April 2004 to work on car design but McLaren already head chief designer Mike Coughlan in place in addition to executive engineering director Neil Oatley. Soon after his arrival, the technical team was reshuffled with Paddy Lowe being put in charge of vehicle design, aerodynamics, simulation and race engineering, while Tombazis found himself in more of an administrative role. Given the speed with which he has departed it seems likely that the decision was mutual agreement as McLaren tends to fight hard when it wnats to keep an engineer. The departure and that of Adrian Newey will have no immediate effect on the team as the MP4-21 is finished and now going into production. Success in Formula 1 has a downside as it results in other teams trying to hire your designers and at the moment there are several teams offering big salaries to get new people. We hear that Renault and BAR have both lost staff in recent days to Red Bull Racing.

If this article is right now Red Bull will have the techniqual knowledge of McLaren, Renault and BAR. It is a very smart move by Red Bull and proves they are very serious about formula 1.

I thought RBR did well in 05, and i rate DC much higher now than did when he played 2nd fiddle at McLaren. I attributed much of RBR's Success to the Jaguar boys who stayed on...Now they are procuring all these key players, i think they will shake things up more than Micheal J Fox in 06!

I remeber the last race of 2004 when Jaguar was up for sale and it looked like they wernt going to be bought the ITV commentators mentioned when Webber came into the pits that is will likely be the last pit stop for the Jaguar engineers since it was very likely they were all going to loose their jobs. I was really happy when i found out that Red Bull had bought the Jaguar team and i was even more happy when they annonced DC as one of their drivers. The RB1 was designed by the Jaguar engineers with a small buget so image what they can do with Adrian Newey, engineers from Renault, BAR, a new windtunnel and a extra 200 people working at their factory.
