Gp2 Silverstone Qualifying

Rosberg’s 2005 pole comes on the back of his maiden GP2 series victory in Race 2 at Magny-Cours last weekend. His time of 1:31.509 was set early on in the session, and despite Nelson’s most determined efforts, Nico held pole by 0.041 seconds.
Championship leader Heikki Kovalainen (Arden International) will line up in third, ahead of his main championship rival Adam Carroll (Super Nova International) in fourth. Alexandre Premat set the actual fourth quickest time of the qualifying session, but a ten- place grid penalty imposed after Race 2 in France will see the Frenchman start 14th.
Neel Jani will start from fifth position for Racing Engineering, with DAMS’ Jose Maria Lopez in sixth. Scott Speed (iSport International) and Giorgio Pantano (Super Nova International) line up on row four, with Nicolas Lapierre (Arden International) and Clivio Piccione (Durango) on row five.
Tomorrow’s weather forecast promises clouds and mild heat, with no hint of the rain that many had expected would affect this weekend’s racing. With an age-old battle set to be re-run on row one, and the battle for the championship lead on row two, tomorrow’s race promises to be yet another exciting chapter in the story of the GP2 series.
Nico Rosberg – ART Grand Prix
“This pole position feels great! It wasn’t an ideal qualifying, I could have done much better, but it was just that first set [of tyres] that worked out quite all right. I’m very happy with pole, and we have a good car, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s race. I’m looking for another win!”
Nelson Piquet Jr – Hitech Piquet Sports
“I am very happy – I think I could have gone a bit quicker but I had someone in front of me and lost maybe two or three tenths, so that’s why I’m happy – I could have had pole, and that’s got to be a positive thing. We’ll work on the car for tomorrow now, because race set-ups tend to be different to qualifying, and I hope that everything will go well.”
Heikki Kovalainen – Arden International
“Well I’m not exactly happy – of course I wanted pole – but that was the maximum I could do today. I felt the lap had no mistakes, was clean, but just not quick enough today, to be honest. In my opinion it was one of my best qualifying laps this year, but to be half a second behind tells you we’re missing something.”

Yeah, I know, I wish I could have done it like that, but no, I have to become a lawyer. The plan then is to have kids and get them into it motor sports with my healthy wage package
