Korean Tyre Company In F1???????

Kumho coming in to F1?

The Korean tyre company Kumho is rumoured to be on the verge of announcing a plan to enter F1 to improve the company's worlwide visibility. Much will depend on the F1 tyre regulations which are announced in the next few days but we would expect to see the tyre war intensifying rather than calming down. While this might provide a little more uncertainty in races, it is going to be tough for the newcomers to take on the big players who have years of F1 experience.

thats very interesting. i think the korean compay will have a hell of a job ahead of them to beat bridgestone and michelin though. you must admit there is a big difference between a monopoly and competitive environment. the 2 incumbents have set an amazing precedent of tyre competition i imagine. or did goodyear fight back back then?

the question is, which team be willing to take the risk leave the established two and join the new boys. It could be a move of genious, or a disaster.

well KUMHO Tyres have been involved here in OZ in motor racing for a while even if in the lesser league, but they sure must feel confident to be spending that much money !!

All I can say is "go for it" , would be good to see another "LINK" in the "CHAIN" of F1. Heavon knows F1 needs some "Spicing Up "
