Good interview, their situation was much like Ferrari's in 2003, they under estimated their opponents, but they, unlike Williams, were able to snatch both titles, even with Williams almost getting the Constructors crown last year.

I would have asked if the negotiations with JV were merely quick chats or was there any strength in the rumours about his return to the team. Just out of interest cos there was a s##tload of rumours over the year, and I'd like to hear from Frank about those negotiations.

Q: What type of driver are you looking for to fill the second vacant seat?

FW: Ideally, we need someone with experience but also someone who is quick. We need someone intelligent, hard working and, above all, F1 skillful.

I cant see any driver with more experience and quick (not consistent) than DC...is that a clue?

If DC gets the seat it'll be another easy teamate for Webber to beat.

Now looks as everybody were fighting to NO get DC... sad, and the saddest part is that he is promoting himself even as a test driver...anything would be ok now to him, come on DC have a little diginity.

read on a website today, can't remember which one, that Sir Frank was keen to give DC a small chance, whilst Patrick Head and Sam Michael were dead against it. I read in a magazine that Williams and Head decided to drop DC for '96 when he failed to beat M$ at Hockenheim in 95 in a top car and when JV did top times in testing almost right away.

Talented, experienced , quick it is extremely difficult to get all that. DC is the best among the few available. Incidentally, any idea which team Jos Verstappen is intending to make a comeback?

I read that too, I also read that they were not happy with his consistancy, 9 years at McLaren have not even dented that issue.

Patrick has said about DC's consistency as not being good a fair few times now. But it is fair to atleast give him a chance to prove himself by giving him a 3-day test or something. I think he is certainly better than all of the test drivers.

D.C. should be tested , but I think that there would be too many drivers to assess by Williams as Williams would like to work them .

Example , Pizzonia is well known to the Team and he will be a marker for the others to measure up to. Once they look apon these drivers ( Nick & Anthony ) I think they will firmly decide between these three to maybe put D.C. in for a few days .

Problem will be Jordan and Jaguar grabbing drivers and I think one of them would do best to place D.C. into their F1 Team as a stable building block for the future drivers and even Team funding on the Marketting side.

Jordan places in Briscoe to comply with Toyota's demands and Jaguar keeps Klien going.

So the real seats as I see coming available are limited.

Don't mind DC going to RED BULL for a year. Dubai have shown an interest in him and he can always switch in 2006. But DC has the problem of finding a race seat let alone with a top team.

my guess is Wurz moves to Red Bull Racing with Liuzzi testing before racing for them in '06, and DC tests for McLaren before moving to Dubai F1, who are supported by McLaren and Mercedes. Makes sense, and because it does, and this is F1, I doubt it will happen
