Shame we don't have Richards around to blame this on. Lol. Pity for Davidson as I think he had a great shot at the drive. I don't believe BAR will ever promote him. They just want him for the 3rd driver role.

BAR are taking revenge against Williams as it appears Davidson was high up there in terms of actually getting the seat. In the beginning he was just a number along with other no hopers and wasn't given much of a chance. Now I really think Williams were going to hire him. I just hope Button leaves them in 2006 and then he gets a drive then.

me smells an ongoing stink from the Buttongate disaster. Honda want AD as cover for JB if he leaves for '06 which he probably will, but with DR gone, you never know....

I think it's clear JB is going to go. I don't know what BAR's problem is. There's no seat at Williams for 2006 is JB leaves, so naturally he'd want to drive and not be the tester so he'd have a good shot at the seat at BAR. I don't now why BAR are being so weird. The poor guy's career may never recover from this stunt BAR have pulled. Even Richards being the jerk he is, was going to let AD test for Williams.

DR was going to let AD test maybe because he did'nt want two Brits in his line-up. He said he could'nt have torn loyalties between JB and AD a fair few times last year.

In my opinion it makes perfect sense for BAR to release AD to Williams on a one year loan. JB is almost certainly leaving BAR for Williams for 2006 and if that is the case BAR can then simply replace him with AD, who incidentally will gain experience at Williams readying him for his eventual drive with BAR. On the other hand, if Williams, having signed AD for 2005 on a season-long loan, are impressed with AD to such an extent that they do not want JB in 2006, then Jenson will remain at BAR. Either way BAR is guaranteed one of the aforementioned drivers and this is the best solution when one seat at BAR is permanently reserved for a certain inept Japanese driver.

you're bloody right it's revenge, esp now that honda has more say. williams tried to steal their star driver right from under their noses..

but apparently a deal has been reached according to pitpass.com, so fortunately sensible heads have prevailed.

One more thing about Sato: Richards only had him there to please Honda. If Honda said we don't give a damn about having a Japanese driver, Sato would be dropped faster than a hot potato straight out of an oven. Davidson would have partnered Button if Taku could have been dropped.
