Did Vettel Actually Respect Mark?

Recommended Posts

Well he seems to be incredibly quick in the lower categories in a decent car, so I Beleive with time, he will be a rocket, plus I think he has the whole of Australia on his shoulders. We want a need another world champion, webber was so close but yet so far in 2010, Australia has had a world champion in over 30years.

Indeed but all f1 drivers were incredibly quick in lower categories, thats why they get to f1 in the first place! Tonio Liuzzi and Nick Heidfeld both blitzed F3000 with incredible pace, but never managed the same in f1.

Having a whole country on his shoulders is more likely to be a negative than a positive in my opinion, but we'll see.

It's a lot harder for Aussie youngsters because you need to be racing up through the ranks in europe, which is fine if you're jenson button from england thrashing all the other teenagers around british racing circuits, but webber had to do more than most to get himself over here (there?).

Anyway back on topic does anyone know how long Ric's contract is?

No, that's a good question. But he has moved to Monaco so that suggests his income is about to soar. I hardly doubt he has a "big" contract, so I take it it's for a few years, if I remember hearing right, I think it's a 3yr deal.

I'm an Aussie and I just want to see the best. Come the Olympics this is never more evident. I want to see the best of the best, not just Aussies coming in 149th in some sport we viewing public only see once every 4 years. That doesn't mean I don't get behind Australians in sport, it just means I'm not a blind follower. I can't stand it sometimes, I just wish there was an International neutral country broadcaster that just showed the best doing their thing. Instead all we get is highlight after highlight (other than the swimming or something that might be live), that's edited to just show us the event, and then it goes back to the commentators. I F'n hate it. I can't stand it. We get no build up, no chance to see the vibe, the atmosphere, instead just the result and bam, onto more commentating and off to another edited highlight clip. It's stupid, it's ridiculous and sadly the norm. It's blind patriotism in the worst way. I will always support Australians in sport, but I still chose to support who I want as well.

I really hope Ricci does well. Not because he's Australian, but because I like him and I think he really is appreciative of what he's achieved so far and I honestly wish him all the success. It's refreshing to see a young hungry, honest and humble sports person. Please never change Ricci.
