Teammate War - Who's Winning ?

Recommended Posts

He hasn't always had good cars look at 2009 season but he mainly has had better cars than worse but still with the whinging was able to win a few races in 09 when mclaren were struggling. But he severely handicaps his ability because of his attitude but that's my opinion, outside the car though he is a complete d!ck.

The real teamwar now is between Nico and Lewis.

I think they should take it behind the paddocks without gloves !

3 rounds should be enough :kicking:

I have a feeling that Williams will retain their current driver line-up. Current Williams car is more of the trouble and inconsistent than the drivers.

Lewis will crash out if there is Pokemon there he hasn't got yet. They should make one after him, a big cucumber shaped one with a mushroom head.

Looks like junior in his RB is giving headaches to the designated superman. Maybe end-season result in 2015 was then more than just coincidence after all. The guy ffs got his drivers license just recently, and he is not several places behind, but actually ahead of his teammate. Not bad at all.

You forget the two strategic eras that cost him two guaranteed wins, he's only out qualified danny once. If this all it takes to impress you, you should be bowing down to him after 2014.

Qualifying Comparison....first 12 races of the season. This is just a simple count of how many times each driver has outqualified their teammate. So for example, Hamilton and Rosberg have each outqualified their teammate six times. It is worth noting DR compared to Verstappen and Kvyat, and Sainz compared to Verstappen and Kvyat.

Teammate Wars – 2016

Through German GP

Qualifying

Hamilton-Rosberg                   6 to 6

DR – Verstappen                     7 to 1

DR - Kvyat                              4 to 0

Vettel – Raikonnen                  8 to 4

Alonso – Button                      8 to 3

Vandoorne – Button                1 to 0

Bottas – Massa                        10 to 2

Perez – Hulkenburg                 5 to 7

Sainz – Verstappen                  3 to 1

Sainz – Kvyat                          6 to 2

Magnussen – Palmer               8 to 4

Grosjean – Guiterrez               8 to 4

Wehrlein – Haryanto               7 to 5

Nasr – Erikson                         5 to 7

Numbers in bold is where I think there is going to be driver movement for 2017...for obvious reasons.

How underrated is sainz then? Clearly has some speed.

Well, sometimes numbers tell you something that you would not otherwise notice. DR outqualfied Kvyat 4 to 0, then outqualified Verstappen 7 to 1. Meanwhile Sainz outqualified Verstappen 3 to 1 and then outqualified Kvyat 6 to 2. This gets my attention.

I do find qualifying comparisons fairly useful, as they are less variable and less influenced by extraneous events (including team orders) than racing.

Well most of the time it's based of pure pace isn't it?

I think so. Back in the days when everyone was complaining about Schumacher vs. Barrichello at Ferrari and their "team orders"........it seemed like if Barrichello was as fast as Schumacher, it would have shown up in qualifying. I don't think "team orders" have much impact on qualifying.

Barrichello was always fast over one lap though, he was able to qualify quite well over the span of his career, to me he seemed like he wasn't able to maintain that pace come race day though, very similar to trulli in that respect.

Well, the argument we used to hear was that Schumacher was faster because he was the preferred driver, but I could never really understand that argument when it came to qualifying, and Schumacher usually out qualified Barrichello. In fact the only driver who outqualfied Schumacher was Massa in their final season (and of course, Rosberg when Schumacher returned to F1). I always wondered if Schumacher was slowing as he got older, losing his edge. His return to F1 was particularly unimpressive.

Schumacher wasn't really a strong qualifier if you compare it to his race results, he only did what had to be done, but race day he was extremely quick, very similar to alonso in that respect. Schumi would've had the new parts on the car before Rubens no doubt but he earned them, as for his return, the pace was still there but it was coming to grips with this new era of cars that everyone had years of more practice with, the year he was finally making ground, he left.

Nico is losing the championship it seems.

He may not have the heart of a champion after all.

If he miss this year's chance, I don't think he'd be able to win any time in the near future any longer.
