Webber: Williams Should Dump Bmw

Recommended Posts

they're both underperforming. This new much talked about aero package doesn't seem to be doing a good job either.

You have a good point, but the inference from Williams is that the BMW engine may have suddenley lost power. I suspect dirty tricks on the part of BMW.

BMW insistence on hiring NH, although a good decision, now makes sense as Mario has confirmed that talks with Sauber started as early as January 05

That is where you are wrong though the parts are working as effectively as they should, but being down on power means they won't make an impact anyway no matter how good the aero package is.

Wel the cosworth is much weaker in terms of HP than the BMW, yet thats not doing badly!

I think Williams are just struggling now, plain and simple, Button really should not move to either BMW or Williams next year! It would be, as ive been saying, a Big Big mistkae!

Well seeing as no one knows what situation Williams is in yet its a big mistake to judge next year until we do.

I agree with you to an extent JR. I think williams have numerous problems and must be a very unattractive proposition for JB.

They will take a few years to get back to being a first class front running team!

They weren't this year or last year although looked it in the odd race, BMW and Williams never got along and so don't be surprised when Williams are back quicker than you think.

After all BMW don't have that much experience and have bought a whole team - thats going to be a mess for many more years than Williams who have countless years experience and experience with changing engine supplier.

Still dont expect them to be front runners next year, that would be very unwise. BMW will be a laughing stock IMO next year!

I never said they would be, but then again will BAR be? They seem to be all over the pace at the moment.

BAR are finally coming good actually, a pole in canada, good grid place in US, ok grid place in magny cours, with a solid finish, surely the better place than williams, with a highly revised aero package, languising in the low teens. I know where i would stay!

The test will be at Silverstone with the Honda engine which hasn't done many 2 races in a row. I'd wait a few more races until you think BAR are back in town, teams can have one or two good races and then fall back - Toyota and Williams and RB

well, BAR have now performed good on high and low downforce tracks, and can be competative at both. So its looking up. The only time the engine raced in 2 races was between imola and nurburgring, and that was with a 5 week separation. Not too shabby really!

Haven't they had an update since then?

True, but its seemed very reliable thus far!

Apart from in canada when it broke on heidfeld :( He could have been in a good finishing position if it hadn't let go too. Doesn't look like his luck will change very soon either. He should go back to Sauber, overall he did better with them than with Williams (bar the 2nd places this season)

I dont think that it is a case of luck, rather, it would appear that the williams team are regressing at an alarming rate

and Webber's wrong, BMW should dump Williams the way their cars have been working for the majority of this year. Roll on BMW F1

Sorry, I didn't mean luck as in he's been unlucky with williams and lucky with sauber, I meant luck in a general sense and I agree, Williams are talking about being a world championship contender next year with no BMW engine's being supplied? They'd be lucky if many people considered them that from this point onwards.

BMW have effectively already dumped Williams....

I agree with you in looking forward to the arrival of the BMW F1 team

It has failed 4 times this year.

yeah, thought it was something like that and I know bmw have already dumped williams pretty much and it doesn't look likely that williams will accept bmw as customer engines but we shall see. It does look as if there is just pure lack of power in the BMW engines sometimes as the Williams team and drivers have been commenting on.
