Ferrari did it during the summer, and now Williams have followed suit. The F1 team are clearing out a number of vehicles from their huge car collection and on December 14th F1 enthusiasts will have a mouthwatering array of machinery to bid for.

The catalogue for the event revealed that the sale, to be held at the team's Grove HQ, will have at least three World Championship winning cars among the 20 coming under the hammer.

Bonham's, the auctioneers who run the annual sale at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, are organising the event and alongside the cars there are memorabilia items that cover Williams' 28-year history.

The estimate prices looking exceedingly low for cars that cost millions to develop. Jenson Button's debut Williams FW22 is estimated at

Quite the list, but some real klinkers in there allthough the FW-14B and the FW-15C would be nice to have.

Williams has cancelled its planned auction of cars and memorabilia on December 13/14 after an un-named private investor bought the lot for a "substantial sum" of money.

The collection, which included one of the FW14Bs that helped Nigel Mansell win the 1992 Formula 1 world championship, formed part of Williams' reserve collection from its museum at its headquarters in Grove.

“I would like to thank Bonhams for securing this sale," said team owner Frank Williams.

"I am delighted with this outcome against the background of interest in other recent Formula One auctions.

"As much as securing an important sale, I am also thrilled that there is plenty of interest in Williams which has enabled us to sell every last item in the catalogue."

I have a customer that bought a '96 and '97 Schumi raced Ferrari's for his extensive personal collection, I believe his car count stands at 50+
