Anybody want to see a Galaxie being harassed by Lotus Cortinas being driven?

Or a Camaro being hassled by an Escort and a Viva?

Take a looksee, and enjoy.......

Now, wasn't that fantastic? And no aero............

Who, me?? Never. Just thought it was interesting that in the 60s and early 70s American cars were quite popular racing tools over here. And, of course, it's fun seeing them hassled by cars with no more than 1.8 litres.

And quite a bit lighter than the 'merkin cars too! It's interesting to see the Camaro easily pull away on the straights, but is then caught up in the twisties.

All these old races show that good racing, the sort of racing most people love to watch, is made possible through mechanical grip...the rubber meeting the road.

Somewhere, I have footage from the Nordschleife shot on board a race-ready Elise; he comes upon a Corvette, and is just all over the damn thing in the twisty bits, but whenever the track straightens out, the 'Vette just pulls away.

Hey, that's my mantra! I should charge a royalty on it or something.

:D
