Ch10 Race Commentary

8)Well I'm a week late, working out in the boonies bites couldn't even get the only bar in town to switch it's 17" b/w on let alone see the race. Got back in last night and grabbed an ice cold one, a bag of nuts threw myself into the recliner grabed the remote, hit select and watched practice, qualifying, F1 decade(Brazil '94) and then the race, but wait if this was the race it must have been filler because I could swear that Ferrari won but I thought that wasn't to be this year, they had a so-so car bad rubber and McLaren and Williams even Bar were going to hand them their Lunch??? But no--new graphics new opening to the show that funny nosed BMW, and Steve Matchet talking about sector times 2 secs. quicker than '03. Here in the U.S. we always get the world feed but with our crack anouncing team of Bob Varsha(replacing Rick DeBruel--thank you thank you) David Hobbs Steve Matchet for the tech side of things and Peter Windsor, they do a good job w/ just the rare c##K up, the camera work was good overall and you are right that tach is something that should be used more and the director kept the cameras on the cars that were fighting for best of the rest with just enough of the Ferrari's to keep track and let ya know that they were still in the same time zone-hehe. Altogether 3 days and 5 hrs total coverage-6 if you throw in the '94 race which ran the hr. befor the 1/2 hr race warm-up not bad.......

Is there gonna be any live telecast for msia grandprix?? I think it'll will a delay... it really sux.

Yep, delayed telecast in Aus...but not just delayed by a bit, they are not showing it till after the Sunday night movie.

Its because of the V8's which have a contract wih 10 saying they come before any other sport.

Sucks even more in WA because Ch10 could show the race right after the V8's but their programming is done over east and they wont change it for WA. I rang them about this.

YES and the late night movie all ways goes over time and when you try to sleep befour the race you wake up and wach harf the movie. but this year im lucky i have to study when im wating for the race to start

If the movie does finish on time, highly unlikely, but anyways, the telecast is scheduled to start at 10.40pm EDST (eastern daylights savings time), now if you take the intro, quali package into consideration, the race wont start until around 11 or so. Since the race begins at 6pm EDST, then we get a five hour delay too. Honestly, I can't see why Ten don't broadcast the V8's, have a half hour news/sports tonight package and then start broadcasting from 5.30 or even 5.45 pm. They'll have time to do the intro then we get the race live. Ah well.

well im happy if we get to see the hole race. last year that did not show the second half of the race because some satalight some were went out so all CH 10 had for 30mins was black

yeah i heard about that. I think it only affected Brisbane though as there was no problem here in melb. I know it's not good to happen at any time, but i say better at malaysia than suzuka, unless webber was going for a win of course!!
