Ferrari Punishment For Nigel Stepneys Part In This Mess.

Recommended Posts

Having read much of the information available on "Stepneygate", I cannot see why Ferrari have not been punished for their part in this espionage. Nigel Stepney and Ferrari are equally to blame for this scar on F1 and should be punished accordingly.

It is such a shame that the best season in years has been ruined by this case and by FIA's handling of the matter. I am a McLaren fan but in no way should FA be allowed to take the WDC given the evidence released yesterday (I am undecided about LH), the only satifactory outcome would be for KR to win the thing on the track, thus avoiding any retributions after the Championship has finished.

In the corporate world, tipper shall be punished as well as the tippee. But in this case, and also because of Mafiarrari, Ferrari are immune from punishment. I will furnish you tipper's punishement shortly.

You two need healthy doze of reality. Are you saying the company who's information was stolen needs to be punished? Unless you can prove Ferrari masterminded this all affair there will be no punishment on them because their the victim here. Ferrari did not give materials to Mclaren, Stepney did. And Stepney is under criminal charges so he is going to pay for it. Mclaren tried to defend himself also by giving full blame to Coughlan and if they had succeeded then only him would have payed for it as well.

WMSC:

So Tipper: Stepney

Tippee: Mclaren

Mclaren:

Tipper: Stepney

Tippee: Coughlan

The recent evidence unfortunaly makes it more toward first scenario instead second.

But as has been said in other places, the employer is responsible for the employee. Hence Ferrari are responsible for the actions of Stepney and hence should be punished.

It is a scenario which would just turn the law in to a circus, but the arguement holds true to the reasoning we are all been given.

The answer in this case is that you need to think who has suffered damage. In the case you mention it's not a criminal procedure( it 's a tort) and damage defines the right to sue *. In a criminal procedure on the same case there will be prosecutions*. In this case it's the FIA as the governing body of F1 that imposed the penalties.

*in a court of law

Fact is...

F1 has suffered and more importantly... the fans have suffered ... all because of employees of two F1 teams...
