Shadow

BAR to win "button affair"?

Recommended Posts

Well, Senna I will tell you one thing. Remember DR saying he would'nt promote Ant to the race seat because he did'nt want both their drivers British. If JB is going I wonder what he will do? I think our hope lies in Button messing up his loopholes in the contract. Also, it seems BAT are offering JB more money to stay with them. Wonder what he will do

your logic and rationality is sound, but you can't discount dr's sentiments towards jv, and williams' wish for a pc and non-controversial driver.  montoya was obviously a handful for the race team.

Well, Williams coped with JV for 3 whole years did'nt they

If that canadian pratt starts next season in a race seat in an F1 car, I will run naked around silverstone........ on a wet day.

I hope dearly that JV gets a race seat next year by some miracle or the other. And make that a holiday okay, so people can come and watch. And make sure you call the press.

I think you'll be keeping your clothes on mate, story doing the rounds today is JV stating no serious discussions going on with anyone. Could it really be over?? Nothing will be sorted until Buttongate is over, but is JV as high on the lists as we (myself, Shadow, Senna) wish him to be??!! Im starting to really doubt it.

Well who else is there? Only Davidson, DC and Jarno are really competing with JV for the Williams/BAR drive and they are strongly rumoured to be going to Sauber, Jaguar and Toyota respectively. JV is very lucky in that there really is no alternative to him as MS, RB, KR, MW, FA, RS, GF, and JPM etc ALL HAVE SEATS. Will Williams or BAR risk giving a seat to a rookie or overrated test driver? I really don

That all sounds very logical, but as JV said himself, the paddock has no logic. JV said that teams would rather hire some kid for peanuts than have him for free. There is too much opposition to JV at Williams ie Sam Michael - don't get me started on him, and BAR, well, I really doubt DR will swallow his pride and allow JV back, it'll go against all he's stated. There is a heavy anti JV brigade in the paddock and will do anything to keep him out of the paddock, and sadly I feel those forces outweigh the pro JV brigade. The situation you mentioned  is exactly what Ive come to conclude, but for some reason I can't put it through my head that it'll work that way.

Oh, why do I get the feeling that you are probably right. Remember JV also said that every team boss talks that they would like to see him back but want others to do it. It seems no one likes to have him on board

Sir Frank has always had the utmost respect for JV and although Patrick Head and JV have had some friction in the past, namely over car setup, both respect the others talents. I

Only one correction,Senna, Bar and Williams are fighting over Button. JV will probably come into the fray when JB's issue is resolved.

If button can't go to williams so Heidfeld will get the ride.

Not this crap of Villeneuve

This post and others by you are beginning to become suspicious, especially due to your constant anti JV and pro Heidfeld notions and also the way you construct your posts and the language you use in the manner in which you use it. I have to conclude that Lord Death is simply Nicklaus posting under a new name, which if true, is very sad indeed.

Geez, big man you are Nicklaus, changing your username but still writing the same garbage  .

Anyways, onto the man with one world title, 11 wins and over 20 podiums and 13 poles to Heidfelds, bugger all, okay, one measly podium. JV won't be at Williams and I have two words why: Sam Michael. Ive read some of his comments, and he aint a big JV fan, maybe trying to protect boy wonder Webber, I dont know, but PH and FW hardly run the show anymore, especially PH, Sam Michael has a big big say in things. If Button does stay at BAR, i'll put money that Sam would do everything to convince FW to hire Pizzonia over Jacques, im almost certain of that.

Fresh news coming in from F1 Racing.net

BAR to win Button case?

Jenson Button may have to spend 2005 on the Formula One sidelines, a 'high ranking' source told the UK media on Thursday. The source, a member of the Brackley team, predicted that BAR is likely to win the upcoming 'Contract Recognition Board' decision.

But Button won't drive the 007 if he doesn't want to. ''We cannot force Jenson to drive for us,'' the assenting team 'source' was quoted by British tabloid newspaper 'The Mirror'.

''But we (will be able to) stop him driving for anyone else.'' Renault managing director Flavio Briatore, who dumped Button in 2002, also reckons the Geneva board will rule in BAR's favour.

But the Italian thinks JB, 24, will race a Williams. He told 'Sportautomoto': ''Contractually, he has to stay. But (BAR) won't want a driver who does not want to stay. Jenson is not Schumacher -- I wouldn't fight a war for him.''

Williams will likely buy Button with an out-of-court settlement.

6 words: As much as it will take.

I wonder would Frank Williams lose the CRB ruling , then offer not quite enough for Button ..or would he then offer the same amount for Villeneuve to Sauber as a way of saying lower your demand BAR? (Sauber take on D.C. or Heidfield or other instead) Whom would BAR take after they get the money or more so if they lose !?!?

Pizzonia has had enough time to produce better than what he has...Ralf will be back and the result of his finishings through the last three races will indicate alot about Ralf, the Williams and what Pizzonia would need to measure up to.

If Button stays at BAR, Pizzonia will get the drive. No way will JV go to Williams, I think they were one of the teams he was referring to when he said Sauber was the only team to show him some in negotiations. Sam Michael, he runs the show now, ain't a big JV fans, besides, I read that a top team called JV a week before he signed with Sauber to start discussions, JV told them he made his mind to join Sauber, hence not making teams go into a bidding war and showing where his heart is, now the only top team with a drive left is Williams....
