Jacques wants revenge on BAR

Thursday September 16 2004

Renault couldn't have chosen a better driver to replace Jarno Trulli than Jacques Villeneuve, as there is nothing the Canadian wants more than revenge on his former team, BAR.

Villeneuve has been out of Formula One since leaving BAR in the days prior to the 2003 season-ending Japanese GP. The 1997 World Champion quit the team, which he helped found, after being told Takuma Sato would replace him for this year's campaign. Villeneuve, though, is on the verge of making his F1 comeback and looks set to replace Trulli for the final races of the season.

However, aside from getting back into F1 there is another aspect to Renault's offer that appealed to Jacques - he can use his time at Renault to get revenge on BAR. The two teams are fighting for second place in the Constructors' Championship, which currently belongs to BAR who hold a three-point lead over Renault.

"Renault's goal is just to beat BAR basically, to be second in the Constructors'" he said, adding that it "would be great (to help Renault beat BAR), just because of the way it ended with them."

As JV said himself, "because of the way it all ended", oh, and some guy named David Richards :P . Oh to see the look on DR's face now, truly a priceless moment. :)

I knew all that, I'm like I know why, it's just that, what normal person wouldn't want revenge on the team that treated you like sh!t?

JV has an excellent opportunity to get revenge on BAR. As the Renault should be very quick around the Shanghai circuit as the car has good handling, acceleration, traction and mechanical grip. The BAR is better on lower down force circuits.

In my mind the best move possible has been made by Flavio in his bid to beat BAR to second. I hope it comes off. A win each for Alonso (if his car holds together) and Villeneuve in the last 3 races should do it.

If the Renaults want to win, don't forget they must beat MS.

It's do-able, happened before.

I am doubtful about wins. But Renault could beat BAR, there is a good chance, yes, indeed. :)

I hope so nichosnz. I would prefer three victories for Alonso (dreaming is free  ) but one for each wouldn

What I would like to see in 2 of the final 3 races is a stright fight between MS and JV, with one coming out on top each time so the question is still unanswered.

So with my prior post I and imagining, but not predicting the final 3 races to go to (in no particular order) Alonso, Schumacher and Villeneuve. Dreams are free.

 Sorry It'll be Schumi-China---peperation, look at his record on new tracks

  Sato-JGP---come on you know that it would be the story of the decade

8) 8) Rubino--Brazil---Ferrari won't stand in his way on this, plus they want to go into the off-season on a high

but then I could be wrong and with 3 races on offer Ferrari will take all 3

JV's best chance to win is in China cos it's a new track. It would be the understatement of the century - it's pretty early in the century, so it might just be it  - to say I'd love for JV to win the last 3 races. However, a couple podiums would make me more than happy. Would love to see M$ in a battle against JV, however that Ferrari is so damn fast, but it may happen. A win is achievable, but alot of luck is needed. Now that would be a fairytale now wouldn't it. JV wins Chinese GP in straight fight against M$, ahhhhhh, oh, sorry, fell into my happy place

Well' an MS vs JV depends on the start JV gets.IF he qualifies right behind MS or something, and gets a good start(remember 2000), the fight everyone is dreaming for could be on the cards.

To have a representative `straight fight` both JV and MS would have to use identical equipment without team orders in the same team, which simply isn

hence
...would like to see...

Please Senna, read the posts before automatically going into anti-Schu mode, you do this a lot. Although to be fair it is not only you.

And again MS is not to scared to have a decent team mate, he is to smart to have one, a mag (F1 Racing, I think) asked all the living DWC's about their views on this and it was over 2-1 in favour of the "Schumacher approach".

Which is pure logic, and I would like to say that since when is it not logical to want to be the top dog on any team, or is it that all drivers want to have someone on the team that can beat them all the time. And another point other than DC who on the Grid has more podiums than Rubins, thats right none(ecp. MS ofcourse). Ferrari has the 2 best drivers out there right now, prove me wrong 8) 8) 8)

The Second Best before JV arrived would have to be:

JPM==RB==KM==FA==JB. There are all equally matched in my opinion.
