Jenson Button to stay at BAR!

The Cahier Archive Jenson Button will stay at British American Racing in 2005, following a decison by the Contract Recognition Board. The decision, taken after a lengthy hearing at the weekend in Milan, means that the BMW Williams team must look for a new driver for next year. The team is most likely to choose Antonio Pizzonia but will test Nick Heidfeld and possibly others this autumn before a definitive decision is made.

The decision is great news for BAR-Honda which will be able to keep together the driver line-up which has taken the team to second in the Constructors' title this year. Although Button has expressed a desire to move to Williams on several occasions it is not believed that the team is willing to get involved in paying compensation to BAR.

The decision is likely to get the F1 driver market moving again after several weeks of stagnation

;) Williams won't waste time on a lost cause, considering BAR performance this yr and next albeit without the advantage of a 3rd driver helping with set-up it will be interesting :blink:

Got to feel sorry for Davidson really. I hope DR just makes Williams pay him a good amount and lets him move on. I know i wouldn't want a driver who obviously wants out.

i never thought the crb would rule in favour of williams, but from all the early reports it seems that williams are just going to let it be....for now. i always thought that williams would fight for button in the real courts because their options are pretty slim for a comparable alternative to button, but that doesn't seem to be the case. byfield, on the other hand, looks like a marked man...

i kind of want williams to go after button, but i'd also love to see button-sato for another year too.

well Williams could do a Whole lost worst then pick Up David Coulthard. I can see D.C and M.W as being very compatible and competitive drivers..............

M.W with the younger eagerness, and demonstarted ability, to WIN and D.C with 150 G/P behind him could offer a whole lot of technical advise as I see it

i dunno if I can see DC back at Williams, but i guess Frank doesnt have a great deal of options left to him.

And what about the theory that Fisicho could really go to williams if Bar win Button, and JV would stay at renault?

Good, we are fascinated by next year

wonder if DR will play JB the way he played JV. He could, as in F1 Racing, he was asked whether he would stay with BAR, he said he has a contract and was then told Button also had a contract when he decided to leave, DR then replied "But BAT are honourable people". Let the games begin. If I were JB, Id take next year off and come back with a Williams contract in my pocket in '06. My tip is Pizzonia for the Williams drive next year. Geez, Webber must be loving this, another easy year ahead!!

I don't think Webber enjoys it that much now that some people say "well who knows if he is good, he hasn't had a decent team mate to battle yet.". I know that annoy me to hell.

yeah it would be annoying, but don't think that deep down, he's loving it, as its making him look great, and at the end of the day he's a racer and won't want to be beaten, and if he can avoid top teammates, all the more better, just as Schumi!! ;)

I agree with 'nojvnof1'.Webber could be loving it. It is making him look great, you know a team where only one driver scores the points. He could be enjoying the importance

DC is one of the most successful GP drivers in F1 today. He has a wealth of experience behind him, a good understanding of the technical side of F1, is in good physical condition and has excellent motivation. In my opinion, DC is the most underrated driver in F1. Many people say that he isn

You know in 1972 Emerson Fittipaldi was the only Lotus driver to score points, and Lotus still came away with the Constructors Title.

There were other factors that year, have you seen Jackie Stewart's DVD? One thing, MS nearly scored all the points for Benetton in 1994 and they were within like 5 points, considering how he was disqualified from 3 races and they had less than par drivers filling him in while Williams had Nigel Mansell up their sleeve.

engine smoking on the grid, blows within 3 laps, sound familiar??? Well, that's what happened to Button, and me thinks a long season is in for him next year. Talking with my conspiracy theory hat on, is JB in for a JV '03 season. DNF after DNF etc??!! ;) Have the games started already???!!

That will be excellent i can bash Button for not scoring enuff points, and they can't use engine blow ups as abit of an excuse, kos they wouldn't accept that when i'd say it...well atleast senna wouldn't.
