Trulli Talks Up Toyota

Recommended Posts

Jarno Trulli is convinced that he has made the right decision by joining Toyota.

The Italian, who won his maiden grand prix in 2004, believes he can go on to bigger and better things with his new team.

He said: "To be honest, I think that I have enjoyed a trouble-free transition into Toyota.

"There are obviously a few things to be improved for next season, but generally the team has made me feel very welcome and I see a lot of potential for the upcoming years.

"Over the winter, we will be testing as much as possible to prepare for 2005. It will certainly be very busy."

Trulli parted company with previous team Renault three races before the end of the season.

But the Italian insists he does not look back on his departure with any bitterness, preferring instead to see it as a positive because it allowed him to join Toyota sooner.

He said: "Looking back over the season, I feel hugely positive.

"It has been a year in which I achieved an ambition and won my first grand prix. And the fact that I did it from pole position, in Monte Carlo, made it even more special.

"Then there was my Spa pole position as well, followed by the chance to join Toyota straight away and be quick and competitive.

"I couldn't have had a better season, but I am anticipating even greater things to come with Toyota."

If toyota get it right and things come together in 2005, then either trulli or schumi jnr could look like superstars,

they have both had their chances in good temas with good cars and have both fallen short for one reason or another, ralfie sulks and trulli loses his way half way through too many gps for my liking, sure monaco was a great drive but how many times does he fall off the pace during a gp. Ralk is hot when he's hot and luke warm other times, consistency is his downfall.

Good Luck at Toyota boys.

i think toyota will certainly up their game this year as they were improving towards teh end of year despite the driver change shenanigans. the new regs should also hopefully take away some of their aero deficiencies. this year will se an even tighter midfield battle. B)

The loser out of the Ralf/Trulli battle will most certainly have their career ended as neither is really a top line driver.

Strange when u think back to 1997 when Trulli made a huge impact with Prost, then for the next 6 years or so was nowhere!

as has been his custom, he did in some very good quali performances at jordan. i recall him nabbing a couple front-row positions back when i was a jordan fan.

to nojvnof1, toyota has proven to be quite the career-ender for drivers. i too wonder who will be the one to fall. or will it be both in the end?...

ah well both Mika Salo and Oliver Panis were quite old when they joined Toyota. Same can't be said of Ralfie here.

I wouldn't be surprised if both are dropped if results don't improve going on Toyota's past history of relations with drivers. I still am stunned as to why they dropped Mika Salo at the end of '02.

I never noticed how much we had in common in f1 terms. I was a Jordan fan aswell from around 97-98 till 2002
