Not a bad qualifying session... Glad to see Verstappen on Top.. And The McLarens look like a good handling car.

Too bad what happened to Vettel, hopefully the Race should offer his true pace, he has come from behind on other occasions, and that AM looks competitive amongst others in the midfield.

Alonso got lucky with reaching 9th, but there is the likes of Sergio, Vettel and Lance who would be charging from behind and seem to have a better equipment..

Wow,, Both The McLarens, Pierre, and Charles's performance is completely overshadowed by Verstappens Pole.. going to be a good mix bunch starting the race today..

It's going to be an EXCITING race, apart from Seb' misfortune. He should just keep the car on the tarmac. I think there will be lots of incidents/retirements etc

Are U are saying it's deliberate that MB allowed RB to secure pole, and maybe... win the race. Make the competition feel good... uknow. The observations by trackside experts actually mean NOTHING. The slip-sliding by MB cars around corners are for show.

No. RB are indeed faster than MB, as testing and qualifying suggested, at the current moment. Hope it will last throughout the season. I think MadMax deserves at least one championship... for now. Down the years I think he will rule, that's my opinion.

Yes. MB will eventually catch up, it's their nature to fight harder when things get tough. But, It's not for the reason you are suggesting here

Yes,

They are buying the engines with Honda intel to build their own ones. They are looking to turn into some manufacturer hybrid. They are at an advantage at the moment, as this 2021 engine was actually the 2022 engine. They have fast-tracked the delivery, now they can just build on it throughout the year till engine freeze in a year's time

The data states that, currently, RB are not only faster in qualifying, but also faster on the longer stints. MB are having problems with rear-tyre degradation, hence Bottas' comment... "This thing is undriveable"

Depends how fast MB catches up

Does NOT mean, anythin

The observations from trackside experts and F1 journalists in general, stating that RB dominate in every area, which manifest in qualifying as the fastest car... does not mean... anything?

What I am expecting:

  1. Unpredictability in the front.
  2. Traffic jam in the middle.
  3. Stroll will do from so-so up to well, Sebastian will struggle. Possible DNF. AM will end up as disappointment for those who expected too much. (P6 or P7 when this is over.)
  4. Car testing and debugging continue for just about everyone on the grid. Thank you duo Brawn and Todt.

Sakae expectation IS on target - long way 2 go

Mazepin overtook Vettel on a warm up lap, spun in the front of him, voided basically his the only attempt left to get out of Q3, and Vettel will be now driving from last place. (Not that it makes much difference from P18.) FiA, and their "love" for Vettel is something else for the books. One day someone should write a collection of essays about what Hamilton and Verstappen got away with over years, and then compare it to Vettel. Mazepin of course claims innocence, and blames his pit wall for the mess. Precious little thing, isn't he.

I am angry with Seb as well. He should know better than relay on rationality of that ^~#é*@@!.

Pre-racing - be it testing, practice and quali - one disaster after another for my friend. If this is a sign what's coming in those doses race by race, then I have strong nagging feeling to say chaio, and see you next year. Seems hopeless right now. They aren't even on the grid, and I am getting tired of it all already.

Wolff is accusing Brawn and FiA from deliberately handicapping MB with mandated changes on the body. Since RP was kind enough to copy MB, they received kick in a** last year, and as if it wasn't enough, now they face the same dilemma as MB is.
