Then so was Fretzen in 2002 Oz gp - he messed up, broke the rules and received the appropriate penalty, that is all there is to it.

the rules state a black flag is given if you exit the pits when the red light is on. JPM exited the pits when the red lights were on, he got what he deserved.

It's all extremely futile now anyway, what can McLaren possibly use the footage for? the FIA are not going to reinstate him and pick a number out of the hate are they. i have also get footage of the red light situation and it is clearly off as Montoya crosses the line of the pit exit, but it's all immaterial now, unless the FIA, in a wild fit of pure boredom, decide the suspend him

Of course it is of use - Mclaren can protest against the FIA like the FIA did against BAR. Have Montoya's 'caution' about conduct taken away as well.

One thing nobody can protest is a black flag ruling. If they do, they can face further punishment. IMO, the FIA is crap!

If there is blatent proof as some people have said then of course they can - not necessarily to the FIA but elsewhere.

But the only thing they can gain from it is some one clearing Montoya's record, hardly worth all the effort of going to an independent body just for that because they will gain nothing else from it.
