TORRENTIAL RAIN THREATENS BELGIAN GRAND PRIX

Last Updated: Friday, 09, September, 2005, 16:16

The Belgian Grand Prix cannot go ahead if the weather conditions on race day are as bad as they were for practice this afternoon, according to reports on the Autosport website.

The second Friday session at Spa was a complete washout, with none of the 25 drivers attempting a flying lap.

No but we do want maximum difficulty for the drivers.

No, what we want is the best race possible, and for that we need a dry first half, then a wet second half to shake it all up! :D

I watched the 03 season round up the other day and it showed the river when alonso went into the wheel and bugged his car up. I wish I could find the whole GP though!! I want to see the WHOLE of the crash!

yeah I know, that's what I'm saying, he crashed into the tyre, but I wanted to see the river crash! Alonso crashed on the debris of the river crash, wasn't on the s/f straight I don't think...

here, he werent the only one, though i agree. Silly boys! Scared of a drop of rain :D

It is just outrageous that these drivers are complaining about wet weather conditions, I mean for Christ's sake, Formula 1 cars are so much safer than they were in the '80s and '90s (not to mention the '60s and '70s which were obscenely dangerous times to be an F1 driver) and drivers were not afraid of the rain then, e.g. think Donnington in '93. It is just ridiculous, Jenson should be ashamed of himself!

Rain leave, Ferrari, Kimi, and McLaren needs this but Alonso does not need this. It was a rainy day today there, practice #2 was rained out completely

Fantastic, we need a good wet race, monsoon conditions are even better!

Exactly. I won't at least one truly wet race per season to make things more competitive.

Exactly, I'm sure there a large proportion of us who would give an arm and a leg to race in monsoon conditions, hell I'd race in a blizzard!
