Kimi Raikkonen believes a win is on the cards in Sunday's Chinese Grand Prix despite being out-qualified by both Renaults in Shanghai.

The Finn will start third on the grid after he made a couple of mistakes on his qualifying lap, dropping him behind Fernando Alonso and Giancarlo Fisichella.

But Raikkonen, who was dominant in practice, remained unconcerned by his starting slot and indicated that his pace was influenced by a heavy fuel load.

"We knew before qualifying that we would struggle to get pole position today, but I don't think we have anything to worry about," said Kimi.

"Our strategy should be strong and whilst the car was not perfect on the qualifying lap I'm confident that it will be as good as it has been throughout practice.

"Both Juan Pablo [Montoya] and myself are in strong positions to get the results we need to win the constructors' world championship."

Montoya put in an extraordinary lap to line-up fifth on the grid.

The Colombian was the second man to run on the dirty Shanghai track and his fastest time stood until the last four qualifiers.

But the McLaren star said it could have been better.

"The lap was okay, but there was just no grip," said JPM.

"The circuit conditions continued to improve, so of course I'm disappointed as I know I could have probably been on the front row.

Team boss Ron Dennis indicated that his team, which trails Renault by two points in the constructors' championship, was well placed to make the most of its race stategy.

"We came here to win the race and that is what we intend to do," he said.

"As always it's strategy that counts.

"Both drivers did a great job, but a small mistake by Kimi possibly cost him a front row position. Juan Pablo's lap was exceptional considering the circuit conditions. The whole team is looking forward to tomorrow."

Impossible, Alonso will be driving No1 car next season.

Overall have to wait till tomorrow first pit stops to decide what will happen. Altough KR should be more careful with those statements considering his engine breaking series unless wants to do as JPM did with his we will blow Renault away statement.
