MINARDI'S FINAL TEST UNDERWAY

Minardi began the final Formula 1 test of its 21-year-history at Vallelunga, Italy, today.

The Faenza-based outfit was taken over by Red Bull earlier this month, but this testing commitment, organised prior to the sale of the team, has been honoured to allow a number of young drivers to have their first experience of a Formula 1 car.

The first-timers are Spaniard Roldan Rodriguez, Uruguay

I agree, but at least they will live on through STR. They are still using the same factory as Minardi and now they also have a windtunnel which should improve their performance.

With the RBR B-team replacing Minardi F1 should be more competitive at the back but Minardi did introduce some genuinely talented drivers into F1

Sad to see them go, even though they were not good

Something im worried about is now we dont have any teams that will introduce new talent. Minardi helped many drivers start their F1 career (Alonso, Webber) and without Minadi i fear that many brilliant drivers will not get the opportunity to enter F1.
