Just One Free Practice Session On Saturday

Recommended Posts

http://www.pitpass.com/fes_php/pitpass_new...es_art_id=26800

:Along with the introduction of a new 'knock-out' qualifying system this season, the FIA has opted to slightly alter the Saturday format.

The 'traditional' two forty-five minute free practice sessions, which run from 9:00 - 9:45 and 10:15 - 11:00, are to be dropped in favour of one hour-long session, which will begin at 11:00.

The Friday free practice sessions, which will once again allow the use of third cars, by those teams eligible, will take place at the usual times, 11:00 - 12:00 and 14:00 - 15:00.

Not really a big deal, although it could be better if it means more chances of mistakes and mechanical failures in races

well maybe worse for you ben cos you want to see races that have no crashes, no retirements, and basically no drama at all except cars racing each other!

So we will see even less track time on a race weekend! Sad really. I used to enjoy watching live timing on Saturday evenings for the Euro races (Practice usually starts at 5pm til 7pm our time), now we only get the one session than quali.

actually the quali session + 1 prac will together have more laps than this season,so u wont miss anything, ifanything ,all 22(hopefully 20 :) ) men flat out is a better option i think

yeah true, but I think we would see even more running with another practice session as teams fine tune their quali setup.
