Mosley Earns France's Top Honour

MOSLEY EARNS FRANCE'S TOP HONOUR

FIA president Max Mosley has been awarded France's equivalent of a knighthood, the Legion d'Honneur, for his contribution to motorsport and road safety.

French Foreign Minister Philippe Douste-Blazy and French Sports Minister Jean-Francois Lamour presented Mosley with the award at a ceremony in Paris on Tuesday night.

Mosley's joins former French grand prix racer and Ferrari ace Jean Alesi was also given the honour.

Among the host of friends on hand to see Mosley collect his Legion d'Honneur were F1 boss Bernie Ecclestone, Ferrari's sporting director Jean Todt and Red Bull magnate Dietrich Mateschitz.

Mosley actually does alot to promote road safty around the world. and it has payed off, especialy in Europe. but also in other countries. over 3000 people a day die due to automobeil acidents around the world. Mosley put that figure into prespective when he was in Ireland to promote the new EU raod safty bill: that a 9/11 every day of the year.

thats 1,095,000 people a year. there is alot that Mosley does outside of F1. this award is for those activites
