Villeneuve: Silverstone Isn't Dangerous

Recommended Posts

Jacques Villeneuve has played down suggestions from some of his rivals that Silverstone has become dangerous due to the lack of run-off area at high-speed corners like Copse.

The two-time British GP winner doesn

now thats a true race driver, makes up for some of the stupid things hes done in my eyes. lets see what happenes when its pouring rain.

now adays drivers are pussies, the "oh, on, ill scarce my beautiful face" kind of racers

Lauda was a racer and he has the marks to show it. Michael has them, Prost, Senna and all the greats have them, now we have Webbo and JPM, If Ralfi can survive 2004 indy then you can certainly make it through silverstone. shut up and race or go home

my rant

Webber has gone through alot of pain in a F1 car. I remember when he was with Jaguar and then Williams he had a problem with both cars where he sustained terrible burns to his backside or ars. Frank Williams said any other driver would have retired because the pain was too great but Webber just kept on trucken.

JV would have been much more appreciated had he raced in his father's era. He is 100% right in this article. It's true when he says, the driver's don't HAVE to go flat.

As for Webber, I'll admit he's gutsy, as Ykick says, he raced on with burns at Jag and Williams and raced with cracked ribs last year I believe.

"It has the type of corners where you have to go beyond your human limit. Not the limit but your personal one, where you reach the corner and your foot wants to get off the throttle, and you have to tell it to stay flat. That

That would be awesome. Imagine trying to take the old Eau Rouge flat, big balls required for that!!!

i wonder who does/did take copes and Rouge flat out

and spa will be there next year, better to have it missing one year to rebuild pit lane then to have it this year and then loose it because it doesnt have the facilities for F1

Yes, but not all survived, fisichella for one went off at the top as the track was wet... i think another 2 fell victim...

We had a lovely rear shot from Kimi's car as he travelled flat out up the hill... was cool to see the acceleration...

Wait, what modifications were made to eau rouge again?

Nothing really. Just increased run-off areas for safety. It remains the same as it always was, though I believe the left-hander at the top of the hill was changed a bit..damned memory again.. :eusa_think:

Drivers can take it flat because of the increased downforce of the cars.

Kimi could learn from that statement...not just re: eau rouge but in general.

Yeah, you can thank all the gizmos and TC for that. The way they've opened it up with more run off makes it less of a challenge but safer.
