A good number two will be ready to pounce should the lead driver crashout or retire. If something happens to Schuey in the race then Rubino has a good chance if the Ferrari is on the pace...

Gotta go with JPM, Williams look too strong, although I'm think Alonso will be up there with a chance and for the betting man looks to be the go at generous odds. I'll be hoping he wins!!

From what I remember, I don't think that was his fault. this was on the exit of the first or second corner wasn't it? sure looked like a traction control issue to me.

nah, he said he screwed up big time. That whole race was one of massive screw ups. JPM should win, but we'll see.

All of the drivers listed, apart from those in the `other` option of course because that includes the rest of the grid, are capable of winning in Australia but I’m going to go for JPM although DC does have a history of winning opening rounds…

Statistics tell us Schumacher will win he has won 5 opening rounds, or if something happens to MS then DC who has won 2, all other current drivers put together have won 0.

BTW the other three in the last decade were Hill, Hakkinen, Irvine.

a little off-topic, but i gotta love alonso. i stayed away from f1 websites this week in anticipation of melbourne as the circus arrived. you can actually get a pretty good fix from the mass media when the gp's in your home country. anyway, there was an interview in the herald, and he seemed like such a humble guy. he was saying that he drives the same whatever car he's in, be it the minardi or the renualt, and the only reason why he's looked so good is because of the car he drove last year.

he said something like: "if the car's good, i'l be near the front, if not, i'm at the back." obvious stuff i know, but his whole attitude was so humble. like he was just having a laugh and enjoying himself. it was so much like "who me? nah nah, it's all about the car, i'm just the driver". thumbs up in my books!

If we use statistics then we should basically bet that MS would win all the races this season (except for the two new ones) as he has by far the best overall record.

Not quite true Silverstone would be a head to head with DC. They have won 2 each.
