Rumours about Toyota in 2005

Recommended Posts

It was relevant to the topic because Taku was going on about how poor Ralf is but refuses to criticise Sato who, as I pointed out, is infinitely worse than Ralf. Yes I suppose I do feel it necessary to bag Sato as much as possible – bad habit I’ve got myself into. But I’m pleased to discover that you too share my opinion on Sato at this time – of course Sato could get better and I would be the first to congratulate him… only it would be difficult to be doing worse than he is at the moment!

Sato is absolute legend! He provides the only ENTERTAINMENT of the GP weekend. Now that the SHOW is more important than the racing, he's the perfect man for the job. BANZAI, SATO!!!

Toyota musings: Will everyone just forget about JV for godsake. Petulant, egotistical and lazy, the guy will never race in any serious championship again. GONE and forgotten! So save your breath....

Ralf and Christiano '05.

Dixon and Briscoe '06

Gascoyne magic will put them on top in '07

personally, I hope FW doesnt renew Ralf's contract and that Toyota leave him out to dry. He has done nothing out of the ordinary for williams and has a very poor attitude. I hopes his career follows that of JV last year....Ralfie boy, heres the door!!

nah, we won't forget him, we'll keep making more noise, oh yeah and we'll keep wasting our breath. Gone he may be, but forgotten, yeah, whatever, why are people still talking about him if he's forgotten??!!

I’m serious. If Sato improves I will obviously recognise that and congratulate him on it. However, he would have to become a quick driver who doesn’t spin or crash before I was to do that – so I’m quite confident that I’ll never have to change my opinion of the guy!

It wasn’t April Fools’ Day when this was posted and the same story is on loads of sites. If it’s false I apologise but I think it is true. Ralf has yet to confirm the contract but I think he’s just trying to play Williams against Toyota.

Toyota are on glue should they think Ralf is worth that type of money, they must have buckets of money to throw around and Williams will not ever match that or want to.

Williams think Ralf is worth about 4 Million pounds and thats it.

I will be resting more content when Williams announces they have failed to sign Ralf and Toyota now have failure boy.

why why why?

i know ralf is german and the team is based in germany so it is an important market for them, but ffs to throw that kind of money around at a driver that has been as inconsistent as he has in the past couple years is just ridiculous. results are what they should be seeking. take a look around toyota, with that kind of money they could have almost any driver they want.

dc, jv, fisichella, even reubens are all drivers that could do a better job than ralf for a lot less than US100m!

who knows though, without montoya to rattle his cage the michael in ralf might come out. i smell number 1 status inked on that toyota contract.. it's what ralf's been longing for all these years --> team orders!

that is probably what he is hoping for.... but i think he will find out pretty soon that the guys racing in the middle of the pack are as good as he is and better and no way in hell the MS in him is goin to come up if it was it should have already came up with williams..if he couldn pull it off in a competent car no way he can in a toyota....

about him goin to toyota well maybe thts best for him... he's not the worst in F1 and toyota will be good for him but in my opinion no way is he worth even half

Now Ralf’s denying the deal with Toyota…I wish we could just get this sorted out quickly.

He's trying to play Williams off against Toyota. I read also that Williams have agreed to ongoing discussions throughout the year with the deadline that was agreed at this GP being dumped. What will he do???

he might be out of a drive next year, if the number 1 driver leaves , does one really think he will become number 1, ralf thinks so. is that going forward?/for the team, mybe ralf knows he's runing out of time.

Personally , I think Ralf has been in his "dingy" floating about his private pond ....reality is coming down on him hard and the air is coming out faster than his Wright Brothers test flight he had back in Brazil over Ruben's Ferrari.

He is starting "bail" fast and he will be flaundering hard in his own pond ,cause the pressure is on him Big Time from Williams....signing is not going happen in the next month unless he submits to a far lower wage..anywhere.

Where can he go ? only Toyota..... yes it would be better to have this resolved ,preferrably with him OUT of the Williams team ...period.

Despite the German connection Ralf has with Williams through BMW, Williams don’t appear to be too keen to resign him. After all, Patrick Head has openly criticised Ralf on a number of occasions – the last being the previous GP at Bahrain – and contract negotiations have stalled on a number of occasions between Ralf and Williams and so I don’t think Williams are in any rush to resign Ralf. Having said that, Williams are prone to making wrong moves especially concerning driver selection so they’ll probably keep Ralf and satisfy BMW.
