Alonso Threatens To Quit Over Standard Engine Rule

Recommended Posts

Yes but it won't stop him complaining that he and his team mate get the same engine.

That's exactly what he wants to avoid, he needs to be treated as a number one driver to be successful, don't you remember that he complained about not being treated as number one at Mclaren? and that treatment gave the rookie the chance to beat him like he did.

 Exactly! He'll be worried about Piquet when these new Cosworths come in.

I can understand a team talking about quiting over this but not a driver, I don't see any big deal for drivers to be using the same engine as everybody else, just look at thoses teams using Ferrari engines, they are not a match for them on the track, so why does he is talkingabout quiting unless he is really concerned about NP like you said.

Yeah. Poor, poor Alonso. The only glimmer of hope is that, with his skill at cheating, he should still be able to get an advantage in his Renault-Ferrari next year.

:o You mean Ferrari is going to be the standar engine's supplier? if so the duel Kimi-Massa is going to be great next season.

Renault have denied they'll go for standard engines.

Anyway the Renault Grand Prix team witch invented/pioneered/introduced to grand Prix racing hydraulic dampers, detachable wheels rims, turbos, pit-car radio, data logging/telemetry, pneumatic valves, V10s, mass dampers is no more.

This abomination called Formula 1 must die for true Grand Prix formulae racing to return one day.

I agree in part, I think in F1 got to this point, it can be turned back to where we want to see it again, I mean it would be better for almost everybody the get F1 back to what it was than getting a new racing series because F1 is thecnology but it is tradition and history also, a new racing series could bring excitment but I doubt it would take F1 place it will take a really long time to achive this so I really prefer to see changes in F1 and I mean changes in F1 leadership but right now I think it would be difficult because of this "world economy crisis" and all thoses big company trying to get money out of the goverments, I know there is a crisis but it is not that big as many people are trying to make us think.

In a way I can't blame him.

F1 had a reputation of being the best and it was the job of teams to catch up to whoever was in front at the time. Whilst I appreciate we are in tough economic times, the introduction of standard engines just places F1 in the same category as any other spec series.
