BMW boss Mario Theissen has confirmed that Williams will definitely hire Nick Heidfeld.

The team has yet to decide whether Heidfeld or Antonio Pizzonia will partner Mark Webber next season.

But the German has done enough in two tests with Williams to land at least a testing contract with the team.

AFTER MCLAREN HAD COULTHARD AND FERRARI HAD IRVINE IT'S TIME TOP TEAMS FINALLY HAVE TOP DRIVERS AND NICK HEIDFELD DEFINITELY IS...I HOPE JUSTICE WILL BE MADE AND HE GETS THE SEAT!!!

Are you seriously suggesting that Nick Heidfeld is a top driver or am I failing to detect a hint of sarcasm?

The only reason Nick is being considered is because he

yes frank's pedigree is in no doubt at all. however it must be said ralf was a questionable choice, and getting stuck for leftovers for 2005 isn't the best situation for his line-up.

but hey, if the crb went his way they'd have a line-up to match the likes of mclaren and renault...

a line up to mach Renault LMFAO hahahahahahahaha ooohhhh that funny oohhhh your a crack up Taku. hang on a little i have to get over that one..........................

OK now. i think that Renaults 2004 driver lin up is a lot Better than Renaults 2005 line up. and your callimg Williams driver line up left overs. LOOK AT FISSI hes been in F1 a hole lot lomger than Webber and Webber has broven a lot more and the fact that Webber is in a Better team meanes than he is a better driver. now i whould put Webber on a Par with FA and if not i whould but Webber Better but there is not way in the world that Webber is Left overs maby hindfeld is but Hindfeld is still a lot better than what Fissi is.

Webber and Alonso are completely over-rated anyway. MS & RB is by far the best driver line-up. Fisichella will outclass Alonso, just like Trulli did this year, Webber and Heidfeld isn't exactly scary but we'll just have to wait and see. I was surprised when Mclaren went for Kimi and not Nick after 2001. I believe that Williams will have another bad year. Oh yes and you can't say that picking Ralf was a bad choice, he was the revelation of 1999 in a williams, beat Zanardi, then Button, then JPM (twice), he is worthy of a top car even if he does talk like a little boy (with a camp voice)

Alonso and Fisi is the best driver line up. Riakkonen and JPM is a close second.

Webber and Hiedfeld wouldn't be too shabby, i dunno why people don't rate himas a pretty good driver ,sure he is no alonso or kimi, but he isn't a whole lot behind them.

Well it'll be a nice relief from arguing with Villeneuve fans. Trulli was more of a threat in the Renault this year than Alonso. I don't ecpect Alonso to be a match for Fisichella

Noway!! He's not overrated at all. He hasn't had a chance to prove himself in a decent car, he's not hyped like Alonso & Kimi, even though he beat Kimi as a team-mate in 01. Webber is most overrated driver, and I look forward to HIM being shown up as the normal driver he is, nothing special!

Come on it was Kim's first year in Formula 1,Webber will humiliate on the track :D

Yes and it was only Nick's 2nd year, his first year he spent in a useless Prost car. Webber hasn't done anything good except qualify near the front every now and then. He's scored most of Jag's points since beginning of 2003 but thats because his team-mates (Klien, Pizzonia) don't belong in f1

Yeah, continue to joke about Williams-BMW, the last one to laugh always laughs better.

I want to make it perfectly clear that I do not dislike Williams I merely think that they have made some questionable decisions over the past six years which has resulted in their sharp decline. I would like to see them return to the top of the timesheets but I doubt this will happen soon and I must say that they have decided upon unproven drivers for 2005.

fisi is definitely not leftovers! i don't want to get into a fisi v webber argument cos i like them both, and if frank had his way they'd be team mates next year.

but you got me wrong mate. when i said leftovers i meant that all the good drivers were taken and frank was stuck lookin like a bit of an idiot with a choice between: heidfeld, pizzonia, dc and davidson. the latter 2 he either couldn't have, or didn't want. hardly cream of the crop on anyone's shopping list!

i do think mw will shine at williams, but if a driver pairing is judged by the sum of it's parts, then i think williams' prospective driver line-up looks like last night's leftovers from the f1 team principal's banquet. just take a look at renault, mclaren, ferrari and bar, and williams are way behind from day 1 in that respect. frank went from having:

a) webber & fisi; or

B) webber & button; or

c) webber and mika; and got ----> d) webber & pizzona/heidfeld. nice one frank
