When was the last time a racer was black flagged for shooting the red robot after SC deployment?

Doesn't happen often. I think it was also taking into consideration the way he muscled passed Coulthard and the fact he had been warned before the race. I don't blame him, he was probably angry and upset that he was made to go round another lap while Kimi gets first class pit treatment. If he had waited till after the saftey car had passed he would have ended up on the end of the que.

I don't think Montoya has been disqualified for shooting the red robot...but because he was keeping behind the Red Robot

Somebody did it in Monaco and just got a drive through, and that time there was even a steward at the exit trying to tell him to wait. I think it was one of the Toyotas.

Thanks, guys. I really feel he should have been given a drive-thru.

2003. cost him a chance at the WDC.

He was black flagged at Indy last year in 2003 he got a drive through for knocking Rubens out the race. It was 2002 when Frentzen was black flagged at Melbourne for going past the red light at pit exit, he blamed the team for that, he was waiting at pit exit & the team started yelling "Go, Go Heinz Go" & he instinctively hit the throttle. The 2nd Arrows of Bernoldi was also Black flagged in that race for using the space car after the start of the race. Schumacher was also black flagged at Silverstone 1994 for passing the pole postion man (Damon Hill) twice on the 2 seperate formation laps, on the 1st lap he passed him at turn 1 & then after a restart He passed Hill again on the 2nd formation lap at Abbey & didn't let him back past untill after Bridge.

He was black flagged for the red light and rightly so as Frentzen was punished in the same manner a few years back. Kimi should also face a 25 second penalty like Ralf did for the pit stop incident.

The red light wasn't on when JPM left the pit, going by his onboard footage, as posted by another member.

I believe it doesn't show it because he has actually gone past it and is right on the edge of the picture - or photoshop. If there was a defence Mclaren would have used it don't you think? :)

Sorry but if that was the case Mclaren would have argued it and Juan too.

Have you looked at the footage (not the images)? IF so how can you tell me that red light is not out before he leaves the pits.

I am saying IF it is as obvious as you say Mclaren would be shooting the ruling down.

Just because Mclaren aren't appealing doesn't mean it didn't happen, thats JR like logic.

No that is logic. Mclaren would have appealed against the decision and Montoya would have said something and made sure everyone was listening.

McLaren did try and stop Jaun getting black flagged, but I dont think it was anything to do with the light not actually being on. The thing is once he is black flagged there is much they can do. If he stayed out it just breaks the rules even more and cements the decision.
