Im reletively happy with qualifying results. DC is 11th. I also believe Jenson is light on fuel, the Honda is not .5 of a second faster than the Renaults or McLarens.

Yes I believe JB is lighter than the Renaults and Mclarens...

But a good strategy should help him, Hondas aren't too far off the pace. And often the pole winner wins the Melbourne GP.

It was one of the best qualifying sessions that I have seen. Jenson did well, but both McLarens were up on him on the first two sectors and then the lost over a second in the last.

Why did JV do hardly any laps, he has a brand new engine and you would have thought that he would of done more laps as he would get his fuel back?

Rubens was terrible, especially when his team mate puts it on pole. It will be interesting to read his comments

Pat symonds reckons JB is 5 laps less than Renault! I reckon about 4 laps less. I think though and i have said this before that being and aggressive is the way to go as you can make a gap!

Afew weeks ago he said he wasnt going to commentate during the race. Hopefully he has changed his mind. I would love to hear "AND ITS GO GO GO FOR THE AUSTRALIAN FORMULA 1 GRAND PRIX"

MS has the best position right now, hes going to start 10th, can add any amount of fule and if the race starts wet or becomes wet he can much more easly change his strat. if rain falls at the right time, he might pull off a one stopper and get on the podium if not 1st, especialy if the other guys have to go in 3 or 4 times to change tires.

That's the way it goes. Rubens could and really should have put in a decent time long before the last two minutes.

Well done to JB but I think he's light. Having said that, if he keeps it on the island and the car is capable of what I think it is, he could take the race out with a little luck, although Renault and McLaren look strong.

As for JV, I am absolutely gutted about his engine change. Starting from P19 will be a major challenge and all I hope is that he keeps his nose clean, makes a good start and is quick enough to sneak in a point or two. He and Nick were great in session 3, even allowing for the circumstances. I was so pleased to watch that session live.

Blueboots, JV didn't set any quick times in session 3 as he focused on race fuel loads. The good thing is that he has an extra set of new tyres. JV sounds very confident, I just wish I shared that confidence as it is very hard to pass here.

Should be a good race. I think there will be a shower or two in the morning but it will be fine for the race, I hope!
