Cool. So me and Andres will battle to the death for the title. And Andres is in a car called Lingerie or something, so it looks to me I'll win in my fast but fragile Lotus...just because the Williams is being driven by a certain kid who drove the Spyker in the last game, and there's no McLaren...yet.

Never make fun of my Ligier-Renault. The same that Jacques Laffitte drove

Capisce?

Yes those do look like good odds for you... But if a good driver ends up in Williams you could have problems....

Erin took the other Williams seat...

"Felipe Massa" is P1 in practice, but he (or she?) used Qualifying tires...

At least he is not 5 seconds off the timesheets....

i m already playing... all my slots are occupied :(

Let me know when then....

We can now create a game with 0.01 x accidents/ bad starts/ mech issues etc...

So esp in a spec series this could be fun...

I like the smaller guys. It's a challenge get them up on the grid. I've gotten Super Aguri to 2nd in a championship (with some small help from a teammate :P ), a Midland to win a few races and one championship each for my wife and I in, I think, a Toro Rosso (or was it Red Bull...?). I want to see if I can coax the Minardi into a good result.

Me and my karting buddy Cam will dominate. End of story.

I think me and your other forum buddy, John will....

I just get lucky and end up with good teammates. We need to send out the word on this game to our fellow forum junkies. I've invited Andres and Graham so far...

So AJ, I've been out of BATracer for a bit...I noticed you posted some season variables...did you get to choose these? Also, are the defaults listed somewhere so I can see how far you've deviated from them in this race?

Well i tried last game with Andres, he left pretty early like after the first or second race so.... And due to inactivity from others, the game got deleted(also the server had problems that time, so either way it went)

Yeah i can still update them, till the season starts i think..

The defaults are at 1.00 and the game owner can set them higher or lower as the players like...

Thanks. That helps when setting the 'mechanical sympathy' sliders and such...with your current settings, we can run a bit more abusive, right?

EDIT: Now that BATracer has clans and such, I think a TF1 clan would be fun. Too bad we don't have enough interest...yet. ;) I think we can get a few more people if we mention that there are many other series in BATracer besides just current F1. ALMS, BTCC, F1 circa 1986, A1GP (choke, sputter), V8 Supercars and ChampCar (circa the old CART days..like when Mansell came over to race). The game does a good job mirroring each series' rules, too.

Yup, but you still have a 0.01 chance of retiring...

We could create a clan like the other forums but we have i think max 5 people who play regularly...

Any games on the go? I used to do this a few years back, and wasn't too bad at it (13 poles, 8 wins, 8 fastest laps, 23 podiums, 123 races - sooooooooooo much better than that Button fella with his one measely win...hehe.. :P )

I've been playing a public one recently as the 2nd Spyker..... I managed some points and high qualifying positions in the firrst 5 or 6 rounds but even with perfect setup and good stratergies I'm struggling to make the top 10 now.

Yeah, the game tries to match a real season...the top teams get the car updates and the smaller teams don't. Basically you start off strong and fade away as the season progresses.

A few tips for running the lower teams:

Do your last practice and warmup run on green softs. It helps your race pace to put in a flyer.

Take advantage of the weather. If it's rain, run multiple stops so you're lighter and faster.

Don't make it count towards your WR. It's fun to play the underdogs, but not so fun to have your WR suffer (if you care about such things).

Stay away from Spyker. That team in BATracer is CURSED. ;)

Well we are playing the game, 4 races to go and we have only 5 drivers left... So if you can manage to find a few more people then we could work something out...
