Tata Nano

Maybe not better growth but as you said the standard of living would go up by a mile. All these countries have alot to answer for

1. China - 1.32 Billion

2. India - 1.12 Billion

3. USA - 300 million

4. Indonesia - 225 million

5. Brazil - 186 million

6. Pakistan - 165 million

7. Bangladesh - 147 million

8. Russia - 143 million

9. Nigeria - 135 million

10. Japan - 128 million

Each of those 10 countries needs to reduce their populations by around 30%.

I agree with you,

You say standard of living goes up when population is low.

I dont Agree with you,

Its the population and unemployment that really made this economy grow well in first place.

Unemployment= People were ready to do any odd jobs to earn money, which made many big companies to exploit the chance (utter, dirt cheap labour and decently skilled), look at China too, people work almost for free for you because, they know that they can always find another guy if an individual is not interested in working. Look at Indian students in your country. One of my friends washes cars and trucks for living, back when he was here, he never even washed his clothes.

Frankly i think America has amazing standards of living and don't need to care abt decreasing their population.. Yes they are falling into a recession but thats a different story...

The rest i can agree they need to improve their standard of living but NOT by decreasing population growth...

America need to decrease their population like every other nation listed but for different reasons. The main reason is that even though America h=only has 5% of the World's population they use 25% of the World's resources and emitt 30% of the World's toxic waste into the atmosphere. They should either decrease their population or as a nation go on a diet (and considering that they are the fattest nation in the World proberly isnt such a bad idea).

Well those are the problems of a higher standard of living... Any country which reaches that high will pollute more...

Which is exactly why they need to decrease their population. Per Capita Australia produces just as much pollution but we only have a population of 21 million compared to America's whopping 300 million.

Well no offense, but Australia doens't have that good standard of living(SoL from now on) as USA.... I would think more than half your population has low SoL, while amost all of USA's population has more than basic amenties at their disposal....

Actually in almost every study done in recent years shows that Australia has a better standard of Living than America.

Here is the recent Human Development Index (HDI)

I can only hope they are safe... I also hope they become the new Taxi's in our country...

Yep, I was just talking that with one of my friends, Since a Diesel 2-stroke Bajaj autorikshaw is as expensive as a Nano, it dumped in favour of Nano, which will reduce the pollution levels a lot. I wont be surprised if they offer LPG Version for Taxis or Autos. <_<

:eusa_think: Hmmm.... Wonderful solution for Global Warming... If there is negitve population growth everywhere, no one needs to care for the world, as everone will eventually die... <_<

Population growth is required in all countries and as long as it's not a very big percentage its allright...

:D I know I know!

I was just saying that Population growth actually contributed to the economy in India and China! :D

And in India is still continues to do and is also helping the economy to improve big time, with the rising middle class..

There issomething wrong with China and India thinking that more people will improve their country, I see the Nano as a way of population control.

Indeed, it is appropriately named Tata is what you say to life when you get in one and nano is your life expectancy in seconds :)

In the only journey I had in India (a 10 minute drive from a hotel to a station) the car I was in was smashed into by a taxi..... Although to be fair, I found driving in Naples a million times more scary....

Actually as a piece of engineering, for the price it is quite impressive what they have managed to do.

BTW Tata also make tea-bags....

Anyways. You really still don't understand the need for such vehicles since you guys are blessed with good economy and lots of cash at your disposal for bigger and thirstier cars.

I just said, contrary to what you guys think, population in one way only contributed better economy in recent years. Its not me who found out. Its scientists who claim it, and I agree with it since I have witnessed it myself.

I like small cars. Used to drive a Charade Gtti. Mental. And a Fiat 127 - never went fast enough to hurt anybody even at maximum bananas.

So, what is not enough and what is too much, population wise?

See the thing is the recommended speed for this car is 70 kmph... And with the huge influx due to this car, going at 40 kmph would also be an achievement...

Yes they are also the 5th largest Steel Producer in the world...and they own Himalayan water, Taj Hotels

And i just remembered Tata Industries also came third on the world most transparent companies, behind GE and GlaskoSmithKlien, ahead of Google

Actually, it is messy here...very messy here, what happened has already happened, now its just the future we need to look at by not letting it out of control. These days middle class stick with one child policy.
