I hate that the professionals are allowed to play in the Olympics; most of the hockey players in the Olympics are from the NHL, so the NHL has to take an Olympic break which really blows. Part of my wants to watch my favorite players such as Patrice Bergeron (Canada) and Pavel Datsyuk (Russia), but I also hate sports where players compete for a nation, so I haven't watched any of the hockey. I don't have much interest in the other events so I haven't watched them. I'm the same way with the World Cup; I hate national teams and would prefer to see the best teams assembled with no nation restriction compete rather than a jingoistic mess of stupid people acting stupid. Schumikonen 2 Report post Posted February 25, 2010 I am following it as close as I can, I love the Short track skate races, the skii jumps, bobsleds, snowboars, figure skating and a lot more of those sports, there have been a lot of controvesy in this winter olimpics but there were some in the summer Olimpics too like the one with the local boy Michael Phelps, IMO they have been great and the weather have not been cooperating to much so they could have been better in that field but noone can control that. When he loses a race? He blames his swimsuit. What an arrogant, immature piece of crap. Olympians need to be more than just good athletes; they need to be good people. Phelps? JHS 1 Report post Posted February 27, 2010 I generally don't like the summer Olympics in general. They are boring compared to the winter ones. I'd much rather watch somebody throw themselves head first down a near vertical icy slope on a plastic sled rather than the 100 metre sprint, but hey, that's just me.
