JV watch

Everyone has bad days, MS just had a bad day today. he did show his driving skills though by overtaking many people, the same as he did in the last race.

After all the critisism he has been getting for never overtaking both races have proved beyond doubt how good he really is. In a way it is good that he has had these 2 bad races, it doesn't matter anyway he has already won the championship again

I read many of your comments and I see people here think driving a Formula1 car is like driving a car you go to the shops in.

A year out of F1 does make a difference, you cannot be expected to just get back in the car and drive perfect. JV did do good in the car as for not passing Webber, Webber is a good driver and passing is not as easy as just saying "Pass him" you have never driven a F1 car you don't have a clue

Yeah, but JV didn't start from the pits, spin, and have a flat tire all in one race to come back to finish 12th... (11th in his case)

Yea...JV didn't make those silly mistakes, except for the tyres. Bad performance from both of them.

he also ran on avg. 2-2.5 secs. a lap slower than Alonso. I told you not to get your hopes up, and he'll do no better in Japan

As for being slower than Alonso, what do you think his times would be stuck behind the slower Jaguar. And I can also say the same, MS was lapped by RB.You do the math.

I'm not gonna lie, I was pretty disappointed with the result after the race, but now that I've had some time to think things through, I think I expected way too much of JV. There were many variables which didn't go in JV's favour and all in all, he did a good job. Over 1 lap he was very close to FA and got caught out by the blistering pace at the start. JV will be better for the experience in Suzuka and Brazil. I read he was losing about .7 a lap to FA in the race and as much as just over 1 second, don't know where you got 2-2.5 pumpdoc!! JV had good battles with JPM, MW and the much anticipated one with M$. Again, M$, on a light fuel load and quicker car had immense difficulties passing JV and only did so on his way into the pits when he had that low fuel load. M$ caught him hand over fist, and so he should have with his car, but he had a b!tch of a time trying to pass JV, and quite frankly, I think JV would rather keep M$ behind him than pass MW for a non points finish. Both M$ and JV didn't live up to expectations, but one has more excuse than the other, but at least we still saw a little battle!! Thought he'd nail Webber, but MW drove well, and JV couldn't keep with him through the two sweepers before the long back straight. Ppl said that when JV got out of the car he looked physically drained and his hands were litterally shaking cos of all the effort and lack of racing recently, we pretty much underestimated how hard it truly is to get back after a big break, so JV did damn well considering.

Surprisingly, the hosts down here, normally not big fans of JV, praised his effort over the weekend and said ppl expected more cos it is Jacques Villeneuve, but in reality this was a top effort, which put a smile on my face to see he's getting recognition. Flav and Symonds were supportive of JV which looks good. JV said towards the end of the race he was already thinking about setups for Suzuka and what can be changed. I think there's a 3 day test at Jerez this week, and JV will be the better for it, and we will see a more impressive performance at Suzuka. But damn, it was great to see JV back racing again!!!

As for Michael, he just had an off weekend, he'll win Suzuka now that RB has 2nd sown up!! Pumpdoc, even Flav and Pat Symonds have excused JV's performance and praised it, surely you could give some leverage as well!!

 Why should I give credit, you won't give Rubens credit, I've just pointed out facts that your blind love of JV hid from you, of course you and the others were all up in thinking that JV was going to score ,maybe podium,or win out of the box. I was the one telling you what you didn't want to hear, the only prediction that I got wrong on his weekend was the dnf and that was more for the car than him. by nature I'm just a fan of all racing and a racer myself and I've givin credit where due, but you guys can't getoff the Rubens is a lap dog etc. and i'm tired of it so from here out I'm calling it like I see it, As I was watching the race and live timing, jv was in the 1.37 range as FA was in the 1.35 range most of the race give or take and seeing how the Renault is avastly supiror car than the Jag JV should have got around him. MS had a crappy race big deal, I wouldn't expect perfection every race, and I'm not worried about it eigther, it's still Ferrari 14 the rest 2, the other teams need to get better

I do agree that everyone has bad days but M$ has done too many mistakes in the same weekend. As for his driving skills i would say that is not very complicated to overtake cars which are 2 seconds slower than you.

Rb is a good driver in a great car. To bad he has to be in the MS shadow all the time. It is quite clear Rubens can place the car on the podium as well as MS. MS just has so much power and stroke over at Ferrari that it will never be a fair fight for RB. He will always be sucking the hind one until Master MS has had his fill. That is the problem with Ferrari. No fault of RB, just the facts.
