pretty much expected this, with Klein to be his teammate. There was no chance this team would have run two kids, and it makes sense for the team to hire DC, purely on his experience, and he has worked in a top team for a very long time so he knows what should be right in a team. Liuzzi might pop up on loan to Jordan I heard, maybe with some Red Bull $$

It would be absolutely ridiculous if people like Klien and Pizzonia were in f1 and a driver of DC's quality not getting a drive. I'm happy that it looks like he'll be in Red Bull in 2005, but he deserves better like Williams or BAR. He can race a lot better than most of the guys in f1 today and he's proved that many times

i always believed dc would get the seat at rbr, and this looks highly likely now.

it is disappointing, but he really is exactly what rbr need at the moment. some stability. partner him with liuzzi and you get one of the stars of the future partnered with a very experienced mentor (albeit a has-been).

He had alot less of those towards the end of the season.......he's obviously improved if those engine blow ups were all his fault. He also got a podium and would of had another if not for a silly move, which he seems to of learned from since he has been making them since.

I think in 2003 BAR just told Sato not to crash into everything. A great F3 driver but not looking like going far here in f1. Bit of a Ralf really, comes out with an impressive drive every now and then but most of the time nothing special

I think Sato sums it all up well in a interview he did for his website. He says that in F3 etc he just pushed all the time to the extreme with no room for mistakes and it paid off for him. But when he got to F1 its twice as hard to do that and he's had to adjust to know when he needs to really go to the extreme and when to calm himself just a bit. I think over the year he has done that, he's had less and less silly moves only 1 or 2 this season really, he got a first podium and he started to beocome more cosisten towards the backend. Anyway this was meant to be about DC so i'll bring it back to that by saying DC is still a waste of a seat

I don't think so. if he gets his qualy together he is just what RBR need. But I still say the same, I won't believe it until there is a contract.

Well, thats good news for DC and I feel happy for him, I dont know if he deserves it but he is an icon (in decadency) of this sport, his star is fading away...but for now, I like to see him racing.

Of course DC should stay in f1, he's produced some amazing races, remember austria / brazil 2001 where he whooped schumi's butt, or france 2000. monaco 2002. lets not forget he beat kimi on points in 2002

Yes but you just named ALL of his impressive races out of 175 races, all of them in top teir cars often the best car on the grid.

but most of the 175 racers DC was made to play second driver to MH or RK kind of like how RB was made to in 2002 but for Dc its been over somthing like 7 or 8 years.

your kidding, right? DC was rarely used as a ferrari type second driver, compared to RB. Sure a few times it panned out like that, but not enuff to say that he'd of done much better had it not of happened.

DC has been in a race winning car with Williams in '94 and '95, and McLaren from 1998 until 2003, this year was a b!tch for McLaren so we'll let him off. Anyways, in all those cars, he's only won 12 or 13 races, can't remember exactly but its around that. Compare that with a driver who was in a race winning car for a short period of time, say JV, no im not using him as Im a fan of his, but his example is a good one for this. In two years from 96-97 he won 11 races. Fact is DC took 10 years to win as many races as JV did in 2 years. Forget he's being compared to JV, just look at the years and numbers and you'll see DC is a good driver, but nothing more, and is only being considered at Red Bull because of his experience and his great working of PR, and is also the reason he lasted so long at McLaren who are big on PR. That's my take on DC.
