the latest F1 Racing mag has something about Taku's brake failure in Bahrain, the team blames the materials which 'first overheated, then oxidised' or something like that. There is nothing suggesting it was a Taku problem.

F1 Racing is notorious for swallowing the party line. Do you really think the team would come out and blame their marketing project, Takuma Sato? Certainly not.

The problem with F1 brakes is really a problem with the size of the carbon brake discs and this is one of the FIA's making. The FIA limits the thickness of the discs to a size that is smaller than what some of the cars (especially Takuma Sato's) would run under open regs. This makes them fragile and necessitates thoughtful management, something Takuma is wholly incapable of.

When they are overheated at the beginning of the race by extremely aggressive driving - that also produces an unusual amount of wear on the tyres, as we saw on Taku's car - they cannot be recovered, and instead, continue wearing at an ever-increasing rate.

In other words, the wear rate becomes non-linear once the brakes are overheated and this cannot be reveresed. This explains the rapid destruction of the brakes on Taku's car and, interestingy, also suggests that Sato may have been able to get to the chequered flag had he not cooked the brakes early. Something, I think, the smooth-driving Button was on course to do until he later retired with another problem.

or it could have just been caused by weak materials, like f1 racing said. you are too quick to blame sato's driving style. bar obviously needed to build better built brakes for both cars.

na just bar didnt change their brake balance becuase they couldnt or they wouldnt get the win.

The new owner is a Canadian/Russian. Both countries love hockey.

No hockey this season sadly. The league is in a lot of trouble and instead of taking a pay cut, the players would rather do without. It is just insane to have the players making as much as basketball players when the NHL revenues are only a fraction of the NBA's. I wish they would just suck it up and get back on the ice.

OK, cheers. I read somewhere that alot of the NHL players are going to play in Europe to keep match fit and the like.
