Some people want to spoil our fun and object to the recent proliferation of Sato-related polls, believing they are the product of obsession. Lets use the pretence of a poll to root out these blasphemers.

My vote was to stop the Sato polls. Leave him alone, im not a Sato fan but i think he deserves to be in formula 1 just as much as Montoya, sure his results arnt good but neither are Buttons or Webbers results.

There is a lot of polls about Takuma Sato but there's also a lot of polls about Jenson Button

I find that hard to believe. Very hard to believe. Very, very hard... Button and Webber's results are far better than Sato's. Just look at 2004 when JB got 10 podiums compared to Sato's one in identical machinery.

Allow me to also add that he had the second fastest car, but wound up with no wins and no fast laps.

Well, JPM certainly deserves to be in F1 more than Sato, if thats what you are agreeing with me on. If you're attempting to divert this thread away Sato's miserable season I, Senna, Bajo et al will not permit it!

(Btw JPM is also being trounced by his team-mate in a very good car, so there are some similarities between Sato and JPM as ykickamoocow suggested.)

Thats exactly what i meant. I think Sato could do better in this years McLaren than Montoya has done. In fact i think anyone could do better than Montoya if everyone was in a McLaren.

Whilst JPM has been dire, Sato would do far worse.

I'm beginnig to lose respect for your opinions old boy - I cant see how you have arrived at your conclusion that JPM has been dire this season. Even Martin Brundle gave him 8.5 points for his half term report.

Perhaps if you can provide proof, as bajo would do, to support your peculiar view I would have a bit more respect for your comments in this regard.

Dire in relation to Kimi old boy! Would you not accept that?

Well I agree with your statement, I will point out that it is difficult to determine who is doing better as niether one has done anything impressive. I suppose Sato has been more unimpressive of the two but that is hardly a credit to the Columbian. JPM would have done well to follow RS to Toyota and keep the myth of his first-rate ability alive (I am sure Ralf would have appreciated the benefit to his career from this as well).
