Takuma Sato's Worst Moments

Recommended Posts

How is JB supposed to compete against ferrari in a completely inferior car. I think he did bloody good considering the circumstances. And the renault was just as good as the BAR in the first half of the season, maybe even better actually!

Kimi, JPM & Trulli were able to compete with the same Ferrari ( according to you the Ferrari was superior) in a car that was slower than the BAR and won. How did this happen?

You are right Button did bloody well given the circumstances, but just lacks the X factor to win a race. BTW Alonso only had 25 points to Buttons 44 by mid point. Trulli was closer to Button than Alonso but he was eventually fired.

well surely if trulli was able to win a race why didnt alonso?

And trulli won when MS retired! and kimi had a quick car in belgium, and MS was clearly exhausted at the end of the season, and williams and mclaren had the edge in brazil!

I don't care why Alonso didn't win? We are talking about the exuses that you can come up with as to why Jenson couldn't win despite having the 2nd best car. I have to tell you, you are looking more and more of a fool with your idiotic arguments.

Trulli won in Monaco not because of MS's retirment, MS had another pit stop to make so there is no way MS would have won the race. Sadly Jenson couldn't pass Trulli neither on the tracks nor at the pits. :D Kimi was not fast in SPA, he won because of Renaults attrition, they were faster.

You are yet to come up with a reasonable excuse as to Jenson screwup for last year. What about setting the fastest lap? why didn't that happen? Apparently you claim that he has the "speed"

Oh what the **** ever monty. I've said why JB didnt win a race last year, and if not having a car capable of winning or matching the ferraris as i shoudl say is not good enough with you then whatever! I cant be doing with your childish war mongering!

It's only childish in your eyes because you don't agree with it. Monty raises some interesting points.

But any way this is not the topic...

Hey bajo, guess you need to change the name of this thread to "anything but Takuma's worst moments". It's quickly gone off the track and into the trees. (Must be the old Nurburgring  ) I do agree with your start to the list and need to think about my moments. There were so many blue smoke moments last year I need to pick one.

That's right.  Whether or not his team instructed him to pull-over or stay out he excercised extremely poor judgement and a total disregard for the safety of his fellow competitors in attempting to continue when his race was so obviously over.  He could have easily killed Giancarlo Fisichella among others and I will never forgive him for this.

Erm, where is he ment to pull over in Monaco? There is no room!!! There is not much you can do when your engine goes, just use the little momentum you have left and move out of the racing line and if possible off track. This doesn't seem like a valid arguement because you can argue Fisichella was risking safety by not slowing down, or Honda was risking safety by not making an engine that wouldn't blow etc.

what are you on about?  there have been only 2 engine blows for honda this season and sato was nvolved in neither of them!  please provide specific references to this so-called event and a link if possible.  otherwise we are endertaking in p**s taking (australian for making up stories).

even if what you said above did happen (and it didn't) how can you laugh at him for that??  i think you are referring to the race when his gearbox blew and the team repaired it for him and sent him out again in order to gain a better quali position by finishing the race, which he did.  otherwise i don't know what you're referring to.

ffs people, sato's had some embarassingly funny moments in his career, the engine stallage on the warm up lap is easily no. 1, but do we really need to make up stuff that didn't happen??  taking a page out of bajo's book i see...

Actually there have been no Honda ENGINE failures this season. Just 2 oil fires, and some clutch and transmission failures.

During the race I thought he had blown his tranny, retired, then reappeared only to blow his brakes. There was talk of it being hydraulics related after the race but I don't trust anything coming from BAR-Honda unless it's bad.

It was pretty obvious the second retirement was complete out of Sato's control, the rear wheels locked up which indicates some sort of transmission failure. It wasn't very suprising, they changed the gearbox in just 20 minutes!!!

What are you giving up? You wasted my time all this while for me to listen to "whatever Monty" crap? I thought we were debating about whether JPM's resume looked good or not. I provided proof of his impressive resume, and the debate switched over to your drivers failure to have any accomplishments to have on his resume. Now you need to provide proof as to what has been accomplished by Jenson rather than giving me "whatever" nonsense. You wanted to talk about JPM's resume and that's why we are having this long debate.

Forget about his victory last year, please explain as to why he couldn't record a fast lap. JPM had 2 fast laps last year one in the begining and the other in the last race. Remeber you said by the end of the season the Mclarens and Williams were quick. JPM had one in Sepang (2nd race of the season)

Remember you wanted to

I said look at Jpm's resume, with all the mistakes hes had, and which his will be far more disappointing than JB's of mistakes. I was talking about MISTAKES! Your the one who started this long debate, and i cant be bothered to finish it now. I dont know why JB didnt post a fastest lap. Who bloody cares about fastest laps, i certainly dont. Its WINS that count, which yes JB has none, well done for spotting that you absolute genious! But I have said why JB has not won a race yet. I have my opinions, you have yours, lets just leave it at that.

Back on topic, IMHO satos worst mistake was him stalling on the parade lap for the 2005 brit GP, but also equally as embarressing and stupid was him crashing the lotus in monaco! His most dangerous thing was again at monaco, 2004 when his engine blew leaving thick smoke on the circuit, which resulted in a biug crash with fisi? i believe, and was highly stupid and VERY dangerous!

Thanks :)

I know this is not the topic, when the Jenson Fans / Anti JPM wanted to bitch about how bad JPM resume is, I couldn't help but defend. Sorry :)

And dont forget, i was once a ****ing juan fan, until i realised what a complete knob he is! And Monty, you deliberately tried to annoy me by starting a comparison, and we all know JB has no fastest laps, no race wins etc. But ten again you failed to mention how JPM has had far far better cars than jenson! Anyway. Get back on topic now!

:D:D I enjoy doing that.

This was a topic about Sato and you bad mouthed JPM to divert Bajo's attention from ripping your driver to shreds, there are some consequences for that my friend.

But ten again you failed to mention how JPM has had far far better cars than jenson

Did it ever occur to you that there is something called talent

Besides in 2003, his car was good and so was Mclaren and Ferrari. Jenson's year was in 2004 with only Ferrari to fight with, but he squandered his chances.

See When JPM had his chance he was fighting for the WDC, when Jenson had his chance he was happy with his 2nd places and frequent podium trips. That my freind distinguishes between these two. :)

Again, did it occur to you that the ferrari was FAR FAR FAR superiour to the BAR, hence why MS was winning by over 30 seconds for most of the season! BAR were good, Ferrari were amazing!

Yes I agree, and JPM had the same disadvantage of facing the same FAR FAR FAR superiour Ferrari, and WON. :) Set the fastest lap twice competing against the same FAR FAR FAR superiour Ferrari and our poor Jenson had no clue whatsoever :(

Well JB could have won 2 races last year for sure, one he didnt cos of his engine needed replacing, another because his engine failed! And the BAR may have been the second best car last season, but williams, mclaren and renault all had their days when they were strong!

But anyway. Lets get back on topic now!

In celebration of my return to the forum, I am going to unveil a special topic, one that I have been saving for some time: Takuma Sato

Ah Memories!

I hope Jenson stays at BAR to battle Rubens in equal machinery, with of course the Brazilian constituting a good test of the young Brit, so that Takuma Sato is expelled from F1, a sport he should never have entered in the first place!

Here Here! I cant understand why people think MW will be a test for JB. Yes MW will come out on top once or twice, and will be a little more challenging than our dear sato, but he has no chance of beating JB over the course of the season, as teamates, i would say the out come of a 19 race calendar of jb and mw will be about 14-5, maybe even 15-4 to JB

I just find it funny how numbers and statistics are always relied upon by the JB fans to have a go at other drivers, yet when the numbers don't fall in JB's favour, they say it's not worth anything.

"Its all well and good having the 2nd best car, however when the best car was soo superiour and reliable as it was, its not hard to see why JB failed to score a win!"

It's funny you say that, seeing as how Trulli, Montoya and Raikkonen all managed to win in the 3rd, 4th and 5th best cars respectively!

I'm totally in Monty's corner on this one.

Im overwhelmingly biades, whats wrong with that? lol!

And yes statistics show JPM to be a better driver. But if your going on stats, JV is better than kimi and alonso! Which clearly he is not. Therefor statistics are most useful when comparing teamates, not when comparing a driver who has been in good or really good race winning cars throughout his f1 career, when another has had one year of a really good car and was against the best car on the grid, which consistently won races by quite a huge margin! Yes kimi, trulli and montoya won races but the MP4-19b was NOT a bad car at all, just highly unreliable, and Ferrari faded slightly in the last few races and it was a battle between kimi and montoya in brazil with ferrari practically nowhere, and lest us forget, JB overtook the JPM so we can see he cudda won there, COULD OF, Not would have but could have! Trulli was on pole in monaco, with the flying starting renault so JB couldnt exactly of beaten him on the track, which he did not.
