Kennye 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 My racing buds and I are in the middle of trying to decide USGP or NASCAR at the Glen for our cross country trip next year.............. More crash and burn, slipping and sliding at the NASCAR road race and depending on the time of year, beautiful area. Indy is a very nice city, clean and friendly people. I would guess better parties since there are more places downtown than at the Glenn. If your going be camping out, there are a whole band of folks at both places up all night with their part hats on. I'm sure the good old boys at the Glen would be wilder, but some of the folks in the camping/motor home lot would give them a good run for their money. Tough choice for you to make. Good luck!!! For me, having the race on July 2nd saves me vacation days, I fly in on Wed afternoon and back on Tues. kaisersalsek As far as rich spoiled Americans, spoiled when it comes to cheap gas prices OH YEAH... eat your heart out. Rich HA! If I was rich, I would not be buying lottery tickets ever week and working 12-14 hours a day for someone else. Without driving (I take commuter Railroad and subway... tube) it cost me $196.00(111 GBP) a month and I am at the extreme low end of the spectrum. One of my people spends over $300(170 GBP) a month. My commute is only an hour, but I live less than 20 miles from work. Two of my guys spend 2+ hours commuting one way. If I want to buy a house, 2 Bedroom, 2 bath so close to your neighbor that you can answer their phone through your window, it would cost an average of 500,000(283,021 GBP) in the NY area 1/3 less elsewhere. In NYC (Manhattan) 2.5ml (1,415,280) for large studio or small 1 bedroom Yeah, we're spoiled, least amount of vacation, one of the highest number of hours worked.... On the plus side, our taxes are low, only between 33 and 38%.....
pumpdoc 2 Report post Posted September 27, 2005 You cheap spoilt americans - I'd happily come over to your country with several barrels to fill up with petrol, I'd probably end up making a profit if I took it back home and sold it and that's after I've accounted for flight and hotel costs! Cheap? spoilt? Dear woman when driving from California(near San Diego) to Indy or New York, right now I can fly cheaper and have more to spend at the race.................. I've been to Indy and yes it's party on! Never been to the Glen and the reason we take these trips cross-country is to see something that isn't the same ole same ole. You have to remember I and my friends have been going to races for 30-35 years since we were kids growing up in So. Ca.

Dear woman when driving from California(near San Diego) to Indy or New York, right now I can fly cheaper and have more to spend at the race.................. Love San Diego and surrounding area, beautiful part of the country and great weather.... Hate coming into the airport with that parking garage across the street from the end of the runway. Excellent Zoo of course, I try and hit the zoos in every city I travel to. You can usually judge the city by it's zoo.

Dude flying in to SD is fun they have to bring -em in so steep and then you get that whoa nelly as they have to use the binders and thrust reversers to the max, just as fun taking off as they get as close as possible to Harbor Drive and use all of the runway and the steep climb-out I LOVE IT!!! Have you been to the Wild Animal Park? I live just over the hill from there it's also run by the San Diego ZOO, and ya the weather is great most of the time in fact today was in the upper 80's and 90's. Golf year-round here in my area. 53 is getting cool out but not to bad as long as the wind isn't blowing....... Fall greens fee's drop around 20-25%-----------for a good course(not Torrey Pines etc--or a tourist course) that means 18/cart will run around 30-40$ and most include a large bucket and some also include a sandwich............ If it make you feel better Bajo I lost and had to buy drinks, shot a respectable 85 considering I had to re-shaft my clubs from stiff to reg. to compensate for my new post cancer swing (3/4 vs. full because the neck surgery left me without full head movement) and this was only my 5th time out in a year.
