The Button Thread

Recommended Posts

Considering how fed up various members are getting of all the JB threads from now on we discuss him and post all articles about him in here! OK!

Or even better - lets not talk about him at all. If he really is such an average driver, why does everyone want to talk about him all the time.

Because some nieve folks think he is good, and we have to show them the light! ;)

Sorry to pick the bait, but if JB sucks then what about Sato? ;)

And not always the threads are due to hype over someone, sometimes their for opposite reason (Bajo threads about Kart.. comes in mind :P ).

Well everyone talks about Sato alot, is he good? thats your logic on JB basically.... :eusa_think:

If Sato is for the bad reason, like Karta, then JB is the on'y 'good' example i can see, so you must just be on the wrong side in that one, and he is actually quite poor. :naughty:

I would say lets agree to disagree over JB and let the racing speak for itself - but most of you are so consumed by your dislike of the guy that you fail to see his fantastic performances almost every race, and seem to take enjoyment by coming out with the same comments again and again

I am no avid Button fan. However i was just picking on your name i suppose as it kinda hints you are Sato supporter. Since Button doing a lot better than Sato (again some might say probably) then i was wondering what would it make Sato?

As of my opinion on Button -- He is capable driver and can drive very well. He has not had really winning car under him so to expect him to challenge top is rather utopic and might stay so next year too. He has been defeated by some teammates you could say and has beaten some others or been even with them. Also has had up,down, up era of his perfomance. His first year was good and so has his last two years been. The year he was JV teammate was not so clear despite point difference and other years definetly down period. Main question will be if he can keep is up period and raise it to new level :P

Also he is way too hasty in contracts or just too pessimistic about BAR at last year. IMO he did not expect DR to leave BAR (or was he kicked, does not matter) and so hasted his departure from team. But suprise, suprise circumstances changed and much more to his liking in BAR (and same time Williams heading into unknown (not unknown, not down)) so now he wanted to stay in BAR. This all mess could have been handled far better by him i agree and i am bit disappointed how it was handled.

P.S. Those who say contracts are to be honored would do well to explain Kimi Raikkonen leaving Sauber one year before. I wonder if Sauber had not agreed would we have seen similar events then? Probably not altough as Kimi is not enough emotional imo :P

I would love to see Williams come up with a brilliant car next year which is capable of winning races and BAR's car be a complete waste of space which at best can only get 7th or 8th.

A contract is an agreement between 2 sides. They can be ended before the time is up if they both agree. That's not akin to breaking a contract. Clearly Sauber and Kimi reached an agreement on his contract and it was done in private like all contracts should be handled. Button has broken his agreement 2 years in a row so it's hardly similar to Kimi and Sauber.

Well it would appear that in this year's episode, there has been an agreement between JB and FW, which means that it is similar to Kimi and Sauber, notwithstanding the fact that part of the negotiations were aired in public. No contract was broken this year.

Sauber seemed to give up Kimi fairly quickly, I think he knew he'd been gone the next year regardless, and was nice enough to let him off, with some helpful cash from Mclaren i'd say. This is different here, Button want to go, but couldm't so signed for next year, and then had a dummy spit and wanted to stay, and was dragging it in the media both times, acting like a kid trying to get what he wanted.

Kimi wanted to leave Sauber for Mclaren badly which is why Sauber at end gave in as far as i remember. And about that second part, so in your opinion it is more honorable to try to get off deal with a guy who gave you the wings (so to speak :P ) despite the pressure from major sponsor to pick another driver. Great indeed! If you going to condemn one, you going to have to condemn other too imo. If i remember correctly Sauber even said that he was really disappointed with Raikonnen behaviour.

P.S. I feel like becoming defender of the bashed ones (Like JB and Monty :P ).

Adrian Newey signed a contract with Jaguar.......

It happens more often than we might think, but usually behind closed doors.

The Kimi sauber one is much different to JB and his switching mind routene.

Tell me how they are the same? Kimi, sauber, Mclaren all came ot an agreement fairly quitely, and it was Kimis first year.

Jenson in his 5th year, wants to go to williams, and has a contract with BAr,m and gets told to bad. So he signs with Williams asap for 06, but then mid season, he starts to bitch in moan in public about it, and wants to stay at BAR, and starts having loads more crap about it, and ends up spending a bucket load of cash to get out of it.

They are EXTREMELY different.
