Who says they have to give JV a race ride? They could very well tell him it's testing or sitting.

JV's contract is for a race seat. There apparently is no buyout clause and JV's contract is as water tight as it can get. It is very short for F1 contracts with very little room to maneuvere for either side.

maybe this is what mario is playing at with his mind games in his late season "talks" with jv.

if he is playing mind games, he picked the wrong driver to play them with.

the car need not be made any heavier for wheldon because not being one of the heaviest in irl does not mean he will have the same distinction in f1 so it need not be an"ADVANTAGE" in the first place .so there is no question of nullifying it

not necessarily, but it is possible he may also be lighter than many F1 drivers... and IF this were the case (i didn't say it was) then the above comment applies.

Any advantage would be nullified because of rules F1 has and IRL is stupid enough NOT to have...

I never said that Jarno destroyed Alonso; I said that at one stage, for quite a while, he arguably had the upper hand

Well all I said was alonso didnt destroy trulli, cos wez had said that alonso destroys all his team-mates, and i said it was almost the other way round! Because by france last year trulli had scored about twice as many points as alonso, and had outqualified and outraced him most races. I admit after france it did turn around though

But Alonso has improved dramatically since 2004, and besides that fact you have to admit that throughout last season Alonso was still a better driver than Trulli (hence the fact that Trulli got fired for completely loosing the plot and Alonso went on to become world champion).

alonso is doing a lot better than 04, when he was often slower than trulli, and spun out in monza. Trulli was brilliant up to france, when he made that silly mistake at the last corner. After that, flav seemed to want to make life hell for trulli so I'm not really surprised that trulli's performances dropped as a result of it. In 2005 again trulli's performances seemed to drop a little in the late part of the season - maybe he just cant cope with all those races!
